What a long and fun day yesterday was! I was up at 4, out the door at 5, and - thanks to time zones - arrived at the hotel at 7. Sat in my truck and read until about 7:30 and then went inside. I would've been the first person in line, but I spent a few minutes talking to some folks and a couple of other girls ended up beginning the line! :D :D

Once I got my con badge (when registration opened at 9), I started scoping out the lay of the land. Figured out ballroom was on the 10th floor, and everything else was down this one hallway. I watched a few folks play Dance Dance Revolution. Didn't try to play, though, because I couldn't even keep up with the arrows flying across the screen just while watching. (Loved all the people wearing shirts that said, "I can't dance without arrows.")

Then popped into one of the video rooms for a while until panels started. Every time I couldn't think fo anything to do, into the video room!

They cancelled the Eastern Sword Clinic due to weather - it was freezing! But there was a group doing a live action play of the game Samurai Showdown (complete with real weapons) in the ballroom, so I zoomed up to see that. That's where I took most of my pics, but thanks to the lighting, most are too dark.

After that, I spent the day bouncing in and out of various panels and the video rooms and just hanging out in the lobby. Saw lots of great costumes!

Fansview.com (http://fansview.com) has lots of great pictures of the costumes.

Here's (http://www.fansview.com/2005/mtac/0402c0042.jpg) how my costume came out.

Right around 7, I started dragging a bit, but was determined to stay and see a little bit of the Yaoi Yowza panel. I ended up sitting by one of the tables in the Artists Alley, just watching anime music videos with some folks until time for the panel.

The panel was very fun - door prizes and snacks and videos! But I ducked out of it after an hour and a half to start my drive home.

Thanks to the time change and the crossing of a time zone, I lost two hours and pulled back up at my apartment at 4:30 in the morning! Said good night to the kitties, and crashed on the couch for about 5 hours and then the kitties woke me up for their breakfast.

I love going to conventions!
