YES! Meeka sheds A TON during the spring and summer, but still a little in the winter. She is starting to shed again now. :( :p

They shed a little all year long, but OMG the fur in the spring. Their winter coats are just starting to let loose now. In a few weeks it will look like a lamb exploded in my front yard!!

I actually collect their fur and send it to people who spin it into yarn. I have a great hat made out of my dogs' fur. Corinna sent me an amazing sweater that she made out of English Sheepdog fur.

do they shed? Duh, they're HUSKIES! Star sheds ALL year round, but Sherman blows his coat all at once- it's like watching a dandelion blow away in the wind! Haven't had Cloud long enough to know how he is, but his coat is alot shorter.

Foxy sheds all the time especially before and during summer

Well I only have low shedding Cairns to compare it to, but Oz and Gully sure do seem to shed a lot to me. I put in hard wood floors all through the house and I know my house is cleaner for it, but boy does all the hair become noticable. I'll sweep and mop and have it all looking spic and span and within minutes of finishing, I can already see lil' trails of Collie hair on the floor again.

Bijou doesn't shed much at all that I've noticed; however, this may be because I'm not overly observant :D or it may be due to the fact that she's still a puppy and too busy growing her coat for the first time! We'll see what happens as it gets warmer here, it's only just beginning to hit the 40s and 50s after a winter of frigid temps.

I keep thinking that if Bailey doesn't stop shedding soon, I'll have enough hair to make a new dog.

Peej on the other hand,. doesn't shed. :)

I voted twice...

The short-haired girls - "yes, only during certain seasons" - they shed in the spring but it is very fine...enough to fill the vacuum though

Chloe - "sometimes" - she does shed, but not as much as the other girls...her's is more noticable though

Mine 4 dogs shed most all the time. Lucy the basset hound is the worst tho and her hair shows more than the others except for Rowdy, the old coon dog. Their hair is white so it shows up more. I vacuum the couches quite often and wash the blankets every weekend. I have this thing that i pull across the fabric that picks up the hair and then i can rub it off into the garbage can. That helps me alot between vacuuming too. I am like someone else here that said they could have enough to make another dog. Shedding is the thing around here even with me. I shed too. Snowy doesn't shed at all. :) My mom couldn't get a dog that shed because of her allergies.

Gonzo sheds constantly, even though he's brushed with a shedding comb, pin brush and bristle brush at least once a day. . . I begin to not even notice all the hair in my bed/clothes/mouth >_<

which is why he gets shaved in the summer! his skin also gets dry around this time, and he's just a big mess.. even moreso than any BC I've met.

Well you are all talking about dogs shedding but today, i got out and brushed my horses and could have made another horse out of the hair i brushed out. When they are shedding like this, i use a slicker brush and then rake the hair out and it works wonders for them. With all the critters we have here, we have plenty of hair to vacuum up. Robbie:rolleyes:

OH MY GOSH!!! I was spoiled with my little doxie and non-shedding mini poodle ... then I got my Sheltie!!!
I could make 3 dogs out of her on any given day! She looks horrible, because I can't keep the hair wads off of her!

Not really, the humans in our house shed more than the dogs, if you look closly at the vacuum canister. The dog hair is the only stuff my stepdad notices though and complains about constantly.
