As some of you may know, if we can get a transport from Michigan to Maryland together, I will be taking moosmom's Sophie. While I do love the name Sophie, I already have a Samantha and a Sushi in the house. Adding another S name would be trouble! LOL That's actually one main reason we didn't name Kirin 'Sake'. I think I'd also like to stay with the Japanese theme we have going on for our felines. Here are some of the nicest names I've come across.
Amaya (Maya) - Night rain
Emiko (Emi) - Blessed beautiful child
Kimi - She Who is Without Equal
Kohana (Hana) - Little flower
Miya - Sacred House
Tori - Bird
Tora - Little tiger
I'm also open to suggestions! Vote for your favorite!

She who is without equal...what could be a better name for a cat. :D

I'm torn between Emiko and Kimi. I voted Emi because that name didn;t have any votes yet! :D

I as well voted for Kimi- because it sounds nice and fits well. A tora is a tiger and I would save that name for stripeys:D

I voted for Kimi. I HATE changing their names that they already have but there are times that you have to. I begged my neighbor not to name "Midnight" that name but I could not talk her out of it so when she gave her to me, I changed it to Samantha because "Midnight" just didn't fit her. I love the name Sophie but I adore the meaning of the name Kimi, "She who is without equal"..Does that fit a C-A-T or NOT???

Plus, it fits... Samantha, Sushi, Kirin and Kimi. ;) Two Ss, two Ks. But Emi's right up there too... I don't know! I'm still up in the air about it!

kohana! I can imagine your new kitty, her shinning eyes gleaming, sitting in bright, colorful....pure kohanas signature, "Kohana" hawaiized across it and ends with a heart... oohh sounds good! little kohanas have their own petals, "sophie".."kohana".."hannah".."hana" peeling off lovely, swaying onto ground of love..... *siiing*
(wondering if convinced? :D) have fun with names hunting!

I love both Emiko and Kimi --
How about Kemiko ?
I'm not usually a "combine all the names you love into one long moniker" of a person, but I just can't decide between those two pretty names and their lovely meanings! Maybe your new kitty is meant to be both ;)

I stil like Karina,as she was such a good Little Mom Cat,and left us,way too soon. That would be a nice Tribute,to a Cat,that had a hard life, and never got an even break.

This is a photo,of a photo,and it is a bit blurry,but its the only Karina Photo,that I have!

Do you like Yamiko, not sure on its origin, but my daughter had a friend from Malawai called that, it sounds Japanese to me, slight variation from Emiko.:)
