Here is a poem I wrote today. It's only the rough draft but I hope you like it. It's about the crazy things we do for kitties and how we love them anyway.
Cat Motor Purr Music
For some reason
you seem to think
that 3 AM is a reasonable
time to jump on my chest
and make happy feet on me
(Claws extended)
And what gives you the idea
that I need you to clean
my forehead
with your sandpaper tongue?
(Don't you think it would be more helpful
if you cleaned more than just one spot?)
Okay, I understand
you don't want your bowl to go empty
but could you please at least make a show
of eating more than two bites
when I refill your dish
at midnight?
But, god, I love you
With all your hairball
litterwasting ways
and I'll sleep now
that you're bathed, fed
(Wait - are you bathing again?)
Listening to the roar
of your cat motor purr music.
