I just brought in a plate of Iams canned kitten food mixed with KMR and Duncan went to town on it! The rest of them sniffed it and walked away.

SOOOO CUTE!!!! I shipped a bunch of mine out to foster dad Larry's spacious place so they have more room to get around. There's a major baby boom about to hit (and hitting) so the more I can get out, the better for me. I love the potty pictures Donna! Only on PT do we post pictures of peeing babies LOL! :D :D

Oh Donna, they are just adorable!!! I'm drooling, here!!!!

Tomorrow, I'm going to pick up a loan package from one of my customers. There is a precious female there that gave birth to 5 babies week before last. I'm going to take my camera so I can get some pictures of the babies. Thankfully they are all spoken for, including the mama (who I fell in love with right away). Otherwise, I'd be begging Scott for just one more.

Love those babies, Donna!!! :)

Well....you know, Slick.....that's not entirely out of the question. Donna isn't that far away from me....and I could bring him to the BBQ for you to take home......? Then I could pick him(?) up a week or two ahead of time so I could have a kitten in the house again....for a week or two....maybe that would help break Terry of his silly two only cat rule. ;) :D

Samantha Puppy,

ALLLLLLLLLLLL RIGHTY THEN!!!! :D:D:D Take your pick! I've got a fat, fluffy grey boy with 7 toes on his front feet, a black female (the smallest one who is such a sweetpea!!) with 7 toes on HER front feet, another black male with normal toes and a black female, medium SO SOFT fur (can't remember how many toes). I love them all!!!

The only thing I expect is that they be spayed/neutered, indoor only, updates on his/her progress and...absolutely, positively NO declawing!!!

Your hubby is gonna fall in love INSTANTLY!!!! I might suggest Reilly (the grey male). He's becoming a real lap kitty.

They'll be ready in about 2-3 weeks.

I am SO excited!!!

1 down, 3 to go! Anybody else?????:p :p

Samantha Puppy
03-31-2005, 07:29 PM
Hmmm... I don't know. I currently have two boys. Do you think adding yet another male would be okay? Sushi is around 9 months old and Kirin is around 8 months old. I don't want any dominance issues. Kir and Sush seem to co-dominate, neither seems interested in lording over the other, and it's very pleasant.

Any animal in my house gets spayed or neutered, no questions asked. They are definitely indoors only as we live too close to a fairly busy road. Updates would be absolutely no problem. And I would never, ever put any animal I loved through the pain of declawing. So we're set there.

Now if we can just work out a transfer from Ohio to Maryland...

moosmom
03-31-2005, 07:59 PM
Kittens are easy to incorporate into a household. It's when you try to bring in an older male that problems MAY occur.

I think Reilly would be a great addition. He's such a sweet little thing who loves to sit in my lap being petted while the others crawl all over me like a jungle gym. But if you prefer one of the others, please feel free to let me know. I'm just glad I know he'll have a wonderful home!!

I'll post a thread about a transport needed to see who we can get. I can go to Ohio with no problem. I'll just need to make sure I don't have to work that night.

Thank you so much for adopting one of my babies! It puts my mind at ease.

With some polydactyl kitties, some have claws in between the toes which need CONSTANT checking! I've rescued a few cats with badly infected feet from inside claws growing into the paw pads. Congrats to Samantha Puppy on the 1st pick of the litter! :D :D :D I'd probably go with a female to not offset the harmony in your home. ;)

I'm open to any of them really (though what QueenScoopalot scared me a little with the polydactyls...), I just would like to hear from more of the cat people what they think would be the best match. As I said above, Sushi is about 9 months old and Kirin is about 8 months. And don't forget I have a soon-to-be 3 year old dog, too. She varies between 50-55 lbs. Will your kitty be okay with that?

Don't be scared of what I said, just something to be aware of. I've had many polys come through here, and all you need is a good pair of nail clippers for kitties and to keep an eye on those (possible) extra claws. Not all polydactyls have claws between toes. ;)

Samantha Puppy,

The kitten will be fine with the dog because she's young and will grow up with him and adapt. She'll probably tease the hell out of him too, but that's the fun part of having a kitten.

Either female is a great match. I fed them some more Iams canned kitten food mixed with KMR. The littlest one, Sassie went to town on it. So did Sophie. Reilly on the otherhand (the grey male) is still a boob man (mama's boy). But it's early yet. Another week or so and they'll all be weaned.

Sophie is the fluffy black one (normal feet I think). Oh, take both, will ya??? They're small. Even I can't choose between the two girls!!!! They'll be good company for each other!! ;)

once in a great while if there is an inner claw between the double paws it may need to be amputated. That is the ONLY time declawing should be done!

I hope you take the little mite. I'm a sucker for poly's; I had poly kittens two summers in a row and none for two years.

Samantha Puppy
04-01-2005, 09:53 AM
I think I can convince my husband to get one more, but I know he won't go for two! I would in a heartbeat though! *sigh*

Val said that you made a great match with Doogie, so I trust you to make a great match for me as well... They're all adorable... I wish I *could* take two! Reilly is adorable, but a fluffy little girl would be nice... I don't know! Will they all keep their blue eyes?

emily_the_spoiled
04-01-2005, 09:59 AM
Since we are talking about arranging a transport to the Maryland area I want to find out a little bit more about the boys.

I already have 2 males and 2 females, so I think another male would probably be easier to introduce to the hoard.

I can assure you that my furry ones are thoroughly spoiled, fixed, and restricted to the indoors (except in a harness)...

moosmom
04-01-2005, 10:01 AM
All kittens are born with blue eyes, then they change. But not sure when. If you'd like the little girl, I'd recommend either one. Sophie is softer and fluffier than Sassie. But Sassie is the one with the 7 toes. I guess it depends on what kind of fur you prefer. If it were me, I'd take Sophie.

I knew Doogie would be a good match because of his laid back temperment. When he first got here, MooShoo had Doogie on his back as if he was saying, "Yo Dude, she's MY purson, got it?? I run the show around here, got it???" Doogie was looking at him like, "Everything's cool man!!" That was it! He just fits in anywhere!! It was the best decision I ever made!!

I'm so sorry, I didn't till just now! Well, I've got 2 boys and a girl left. Duncan is black with specks of white on his ears and legs. What's next??? Oh yikes. That's a totally different route than I was putting together. We'll need someone in West Virginia... Is anyone near Columbus, OH.? Cincy's Mom could maybe meet someone there, instead of Cincinnati (it doesn't seem like any big east-west routes coming into/out of Cincy) and hit I-70 East out of Columbus towards Pennsylvania.

I dunno... I can't really do much 'til we get somewhere near Maryland - Hagerstown, MD to the west or York, PA to the north... :(
