The day we brought our new crate home for Bijou, there was a misunderstanding among the younger set, evidently, who we bought it for:

Was it for the cat?

Well, no. Not for the cat.

Was it for my daughter?

Um, despite her affection for the space, the kennel was definitely not for my daughter.

Was it for the pup?

Why, yes, it's for the pup? She finally got a chance to nap in it and it's going along famously. She's got her cozy spot and we have a bit of our house back when necessary.

(My daughter still goes in and tumbles around with Bijou's toys, but our pup doesn't seem to mind much! She's such a nice doggie!)

That's too cute! While I don't have a little one, all of my pups and kittys had to try out the crate! :D

Bob would never let anyone in his 'den'...guess he's not a nice doggie!:D

Cute pitures!! My sister's daughter also think the crates are for her. She will go play in the crate, and pull their lab mix in with her, and they lay in there together.

Doogie (kitty) uses my kennel for his litterbox storage and on occasion, napping. I keep a blanket in it, too.

After the dog had been with us for about 6 months, one of our cats decided he wanted to claim the dog's crate/bed - and Sascha wasn't about to try to tangle with Punkin-Head Jones, the curmudgeonly cat. So in the middle of the night, poor Sascha had to sleep on the (carpeted) floor because somebody else was in her bed.

It only lasted a few weeks; I wasn't sure whether it was a sign of dominance from the cat, or finally, a sign of acceptance for the dog!
