I took the afternoon off and Scott and I loaded up Zipper and Honey into the Jeep and headed to the mountains for the afternoon. There is a very quiet state park called Jones Gap that we went to, which is about 30 minutes from here. I had never been, but it is very rustic and beautiful. They only allow 30 cars in there at one time, so there weren't many people around at all.

Turns out the cold, mountain stream was the hit and Zipper was so tired and hot, he just plopped down in there. Honey kept walking out into the water, floating for a second, then putting her leash in mouth and would come back in. She did it over and over. We had a lovely afternoon. Hope you enjoy the "one handed" pictures. I was holding the leash while I was snapping.

Lilly will have her time, tomorrow. She's going to ride with us up to Lake Jocassee to see my friend, Holly, from the Golden Retriever board, and her family. We may take Honey or Zipper too, but probably not both. 3 of them and 2 of us is a bit much.

Our weather was gorgeous today, around 73 degrees. I had on jeans and a long sleeve teeshirt, but would have been quite comfortable in shorts, I'm sure.

Have a wonderful weekend, everyone.
Logan

:) Had to laugh. I think Honey had the right idea. Float out, pull yourself back in, float out...Yeah, that's the way to do it. :) Smart girl Honey, I'm with you.

LOL!!! Liz, we were both soaked from the shaking off. Everytime Honey came out, she stood right beside me, shook herself off, and went right back in. Zipper did the same thing, but he did not get in the water as much as Honey did. They both had so much fun, which made us have fun too. :)

Sandra, this water is COLD!!!!! It's cold like your ocean, even in the summer.......you might not have wanted to go in there! I'm just lucky I didn't get pulled in there, and so is Scott! Hehehe!!!! :)

Will try and get some more pictures tomorrow at the lake. There is gorgeous mountain scenery there. I hope it doesn't rain so that we can go. I think Honey might stay home. She's limping a bit. I think climbing in and out over those rocks probably caused that one spot of arthritis to start acting up. Both of those furries are sound asleep right now. :)

What a couple of lucky dogs to have such a beautiful place to play! I love springs and we've got them down here, too. Just none too close to me, is all. Certainly none where dogs are allowed. Lookes like they had a good time.

What a lovely spot you have found. Makes me want to move to
SC. Honey and Zipper you must be true water dogs to dip yourselves into a cold stream. You all have the neatest adventures. Thanks for taking us along. ;)
