Just click on the smilies legend, to the left of the box where you are typing your message! The most common one http://PetoftheDay.com/talk/smile.gif you get if you type a colon - : followed by a closed-parentheses )

I'm feeling really dumb. I can do the basic smilies per the smilies legend, but the animated ones like in the "this is a test...." message -- I just don't get it. http://PetoftheDay.com/talk/confused.gif Sigh.
