I took some more pictures this weekend of Duncan. (Like I don't have enough already! ;) )
Collin and I went looking for this park in Jersey that I had heard about from some other dog owners. Now you have to remember that Duncan is TERRIBLE in the car so this was a BIG deal, getting Collin to go with us! I had to sit in the backseat with Duncan to keep him calm so he didn't drive Collin crazy!
Anyway, we never did find that park but we passed 2 or 3 others on the way. Finally, we turned around and went back to one of them. But the strange thing, 2 of the 3 parks we passed didn't allow dogs! I guess I understand why but I still don't like it! In my opinion, any open space, is FOR dogs!;) :p

So here are some more pics of Duncan. Let me know when you're sick of seeing them. i'll still take them of course but I won't subject you all to his every move!:D

What great shots - your Duncan is one good looking doggie! Nice trails, too -- think you'll go back to that park?

We probably won't go back to that park. It's actually really small. The trail goes around a pond and up a hill to a bench and that's it. It was more like a playground, soccer field, picnic area type thing. I did find a huge park with miles and miles of trails a few weeks ago but it's about 40 minutes from my house, with traffic, on the NY/NJ border, called Ramapo Reservation. I will go back there this spring for sure, even though the ride with Duncan is BRUTAL! I can't express to you enough how poorly he behaves in the car...! What I wouldn't give for an SUV!
Thanks for the compliments:)

What is Duncan? Is he a GSD/Setter mix?

Um, I'm not really sure what Duncan is but GSD/Setter is as good a guess as any!:)
I do think he has setter in him from his coloring and his build. He's tall and slim. And his back legs sometimes look GSD to me too. But I adopted him from the SPCA and they really had no idea either as he was found roaming the streets at 6 months old.

People often guess afghan hound or flat-coated retreiver too. Whatever he is, I rarely see any other dogs that look like him. There are one or two here at Pet Talk and I have seen one in "real life" but that's about it.

What great pics, Jennifer! You might have enough, but we don't! Such a beautiful family!;) Duncan looks so at ease in that natural setting! He really is a stunner! I always thought he was all or mostly Gordon Setter or Flat Coat. Whatever his mix, he's gorgeous!

I'm originally from a town not far from the Ramapo Mts! Beautiful area and lots of areas to enjoy with Duncan. Just gotta kind them:D

MORE PIOS PLEASE! And hugs to you Duncan!:)

Gret pictures! Looks like you guys had fun. Sorry about that no dogs in the park. That is ridiculous!

You look great! I love your hair like this. The color looks really good on you. My hair is in limbo now! I cut it back in September, boy cut short! And now it is growing out. If I have an hour to spend on it, I can get it to look good. But who has that kind of time?

Anyhow, loved the pictures. Duncan is handsome as always. And BF is cute too!

How great that Duncan was able to be *off leash* at the park. He must be a very well behaved and obedient dog.

As for how he acts in the car, believe me I can visualize it. Hannah is the same way. My feeling is that can be improved with more trips so it doesn't become such an excitable event for them but more like an everyday routine. But my husband's reaction is the same as Collin's, he doesn't have the patience to go through the desensitizing processes. I have to admit that I probably am not either. Sometimes during a trip to the park, I am worn out by the time we get there.

Beautiful pictures of everybody. :)
What a shame that some parks do not
allow leashed dogs as long as people pick
up the poop.
