How very nice of you and thank you.
I too, wish everyone a very Happy and Safe
Thanksgiving Day. We have so much to be thankful for, especially for all of our furry
dear pet companions. My little calico turns 16 on Thanksgiving Day. I think there is some turkey in her future. She meows at me all day until the bird is ready.

We want to wish everyone around the world a Happy Thanksgiving. Although we know this is an American holiday this day (and Canada had theirs in October) I think the sentiment of giving thanks for the bounty of the earth, for friends, family (human and otherwise), and the love we receive is universal. Thank you all for participating and enjoying these sites, and this board, and most of all, thank you for the helpful advice and friendship given to pet lovers everywhere!

I'm a little slow in responding to the Thanksgiving messages. I hope all of you had a wonderful extended weekend. As I sit here in my warm home, surrounded by my wonderful pets, I am thankful! http://PetoftheDay.com/talk/smile.gif I especially appreciate all of my new friends that I have met through this website. Karen and Paul, thanks for making it possible for us to talk about our favorite subject in such a friendly environment. Happy Thanksgiving to all of you! http://PetoftheDay.com/talk/smile.gif http://PetoftheDay.com/talk/biggrin.gif

Had a serious, unexpected family illness to deal with over the holiday so please forgive me in being so tardy in wishing you all a very happy and healthy Thanksgiving. My Canadian and English "neighbors" as well, of course! I think we all can find something to be grateful and thankful for, even in the presence of life's "bumps." Whenever I think it all looks so bleak; when things can't get any worse, I look at my "kids" happy faces and think to myself, I thank God that my babies are healthy and happy, and then things don't look so bad. Don't mean to sound so depressing!! I'm just soooooo grateful for the love and joy these guys give me, even in my saddest moments. They are truly a joy and I give thanks for them; not just on this holiday, but everyday. I hope you all had a very happy and cozy Thanksgiving. You are all such wonderful, giving people. I think of you all as great and good friends. Wish I could meet you all; with your "kids" of course!!! Wouldn't that be fun! Be well!!! Special thoughts and prayers and support for Alison and Bella.

You most certainly do not sound depressing!! You sound like a very positive person to know and thank you for reminding us all of our blessings.
The first thing I do when it all gets too much is take the dogs out on my own and have a good look around me. It gives me hope for the future. Keep counting your blessings and things will never get too, too hard. (Not always easy!) And don't put yourself down again - you sound such a great person, we are all happier for talking to you.

Ooops, forgot to say that I agree! Wouldn't that be a party and a half? All of us and our animals meeting up at someone's house?! All visitors welcome here!!!!!!!

I don't think you sounded depressing either. I am sorry to hear you had a family illness that dampened your holiday. It is exactly during these times that our pets seem to sense our need for company, sympathy and love. I am glad that yours can be such comfort to you when you really need it. As for all of us getting together with our pets, you may as well hold it at my house, my carpet is already destroyed. I hope your personal situation is much better today.

It would be so much fun to meet everyone face to face, or at least hear your voices. I'll go ahead and tell you I definitely have the southern drawl. I work for a company headquartered in Washington, DC and they give me a fit about the way I talk! As long as they keep on paying me, I don't care! http://PetoftheDay.com/talk/biggrin.gif http://PetoftheDay.com/talk/biggrin.gif
I just think you are all a wonderful bunch. Thanks for being out there!

Thanks for all your sweet responses. Kind thoughts from friends always makes one feel better. We really MUST give some consideration to this party idea! Can't you just picture us all on the floor checking for "Frito Feet?" Gini, toooo funny! "Carpet; WHAT CARPET!" I gave up on that long ago! Carrie, you're so sweet. I looked up your area of G.B. on the internet and it looks so lovely; near Stonehenge? Like the proverbial quaint English town. Being amongst such beauty would certainly give me thanks, too. Logan, I just love a southern drawl! Maybe you can teach those Wash. bureaucrats some manners!

Yeah, it's pretty special. Stonehenge is ten minutes down the road and is truly awesome!

You all are just the best. I am very thankful for each and every one of you and treasure you dearly. My husband and I have been talking about where we should live when we retire. He wants to go somewhere warm. I have this fantasy that there could be a SunCity type of place for all us dog nuts and cat nuts. Dog parks would be the norm instead of a rarity. We could go on vacations because the rest would gladly pitch in and take care of our furbabies. Where when we got too old and dithering to take care of furbabies, the others would find homes for our dearest. Where there would be a big rescue and shelter organization where we could spend our volunteer time. And if we had to go into a nursing home, well, you know the place would be crawling with dogs and cats, so we never had to be without their company.

Rachel,
I just love you! I agree with everything you say and you say it just right! (Much better than I every could)
You and your husband are welcome in Greenville anytime! We've got mountains and beaches nearby. You've got the best of both worlds. If you ever find that "Sun City" type of environment where we can retire with our pets, I want to buy a place, NOW!!!
