Howdy Doo Pet of The Day!
Just wanted to tell you guys how much I enjoy your site. It is ABSOLUTELY one of the easiest sites I've ever experienced especially being a "beginner" at Internet Stuff. I'm at best, grateful to IWon.com for introducing PET to me and I will NEVER, EVER understand why they took you off. I never miss a day visiting you. Thanks so much for making it possible. Thank you also for your assistance when I've needed questions answered AND of course, for featuring my beloved DENNIS BUBBA-POTTER (7/30) http://PetoftheDay.com/talk/biggrin.gif
Blessings of GREAT Joy,

This might be a good place to comment on the terrific changes I saw today: Mini profile in each author's post, and the ability to go directly to page 2's. I've been following Bella's progress, and this change makes it much faster. Thanks, Karen and Paul.

You're welcome, and Thanks! We love doing the site, and it is good to hear that people enjoy it, too! The changes you see on the bulletin board are because we upgraded the software, so if you find anything that doesn't work, let us know, too! I agree, it's fun seeing the little info on each person, it's amazing how much some people have posted! http://PetoftheDay.com/talk/smile.gif - keep it up! So far, the only thing that hasn't changed is the lights aren't consistently "lit up" when they should be sometimes, but that's been constant, anyway!

I like the new mini-profiles, too. I was always clicking the profile icons to see where folks were from, to kind of follow the different traditions and slang each country has for its pets, and this makes it much easier. I found this site from a site called e-tour, just a few days after I got my computer, and I have signed on every day that I log on to the computer since then. It took me a while to finally realize all the features it had, because like Enthusiologist I only just recently took the access road to the information superhighway. I'm sure glad Al Gore invented all this stuff! http://PetoftheDay.com/talk/wink.gif http://PetoftheDay.com/talk/biggrin.gif This site was MADE for pet lovers. I'll be glad when I'm finally equipped to submit my crew for Pet of the Day!

I love the new format too. Glad someone started this little discussion, so we can all let you know how happy we are with your site. http://PetoftheDay.com/talk/biggrin.gif http://PetoftheDay.com/talk/biggrin.gif I have made some really good friends, plus I am learning a lot about my animals.
By the way, my niece pointed me to your site quite some time back, before Pet Talk even existed. Can't even remember what the pet was she wanted me to see, but I bookmarked you that day and have tried to check you out daily since that time!
Thanks for all your hard work.
Logan

As if you can't tell from the number of posts I have made, I really love this site. The changes have been great. I love seeing where people are from. It is by far the easiest to navigate that I have come across and has by far the friendliest and most regular visitors. I have made friends, had lots of laughs, been touched by people's stories and inspired to try out new ideas.
Karen and Paul and all you others out there - thank you very much.

What can I say? Everything has already been said. It is the best and easiest site on the net. I am not too great with this 'superhighway' myself and (as you can see) I have not figured out how to use the 'smilies' yet but just give me some time to work on it and my next post will have some smilies!!!
Every day I check the 'cat of the day' and see what is in the 'pet talk' and now and than I add my comments to it. It is great to speak to pet lovers all over the world and just as Carrie says, I also had many laughs, been touched by people's stories and inspired to try out new ideas.
Great work, thank you very much!

Hi again Karen and Paul,
I have a couple of suggestions you may be interested in?
Since joining this site there have been a few occasions when I have not answered people's queries as I was unsure if I was answering an adult or a child. It may be useful to ask under eighteen's, say, to state their age on their on their profile so we can all take it into consideration when answering posts. This would also allow us all to be more aware of inappropriate approaches towards children, on this site at least. The email addresses of children could also be witheld from posts and one doorway to unprotected children would be closed. What do you think?

Ditto to everything above!! http://PetoftheDay.com/talk/biggrin.gif My daily routine now is to check my e-mail and then go to Internet Explorer. My husband has it so that Cat of the Day comes on when I click on Explorer. Then I check the Cat, Dog and Pet of the day and of course read all of the posts. I have learned so much and met some nice people. There is a kinship between people who are pet lovers that probably others may not understand. Anyway, I am rambling...... Karen and Paul, thanks for this site! http://PetoftheDay.com/talk/smile.gif

Carrie made an excellent point a few posts ago regarding children and the internet. I don't know if there is any kind of screening on this website as to age of the respondents, but it might be a good idea if we could have an indication of age before responding to specific questions. I don't think I have ever read anything inappropriate here, so that is a plus! But I certainly understand concerns about children's access to the internet as a mother of a nine year old girl, who is very curious!

I agree with you all! Karen and Paul, thank you for providing us with such a wonderful forum to share our passion for animals. You make it so easy to share our thoughts and ideas, our feelings and fears; and especially our love for these magnificent creatures. I can't quite explain it, but more than any other forum I've participated in, this one gives me the feeling of really "being there??!" As though I'm really talking to you guys. This might sound scary, but just from "listening" to you all, I sort of have a mental picture of each one of you. EVERYONE is gorgeous of course!!! Gorgeous, because you are all such beautiful people with caring hearts. And while we're thanking everyone for making this site so terrific, may I add, NONE of this would be possible without, (need I say it) ALL OUR SOFT, SLITHERING, SLIPPERY, FURRY, FUZZY, FEATHERED, FRIENDS!!!!

I agree! This is a wonderful site! I have it as my home page both at work and at home! I agree with Carrie about stating the age of the youngsters. A reply may have to be worded a bit differently to them.
KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK KAREN AND PAUL!!!! We all appreciate it very much!

I make it a point to read your posts when I see them. Isn't it possible that the really caring and gorgeous person is YOU?
You always have the most positive and warm things to say to each owner of the Pet Of The
Day (or cat or dog). I can just feel the love going out to each owner and I know they must deeply appreciate it. Not all of the posts are quite as warm - but we each are different. You however, seem to be very special.

Gini: Thanks SO much for such kind words!! Really, TOOOO KIND!!! Getting ready for work, and you just MADE MY DAY!! Kind of like getting picked as "Human of the Day!! (Hah, hah) See?? You just proved my point! Terrific people all! Oh, lets just get sickeningly soppy: GROUP HUG, GROUP HUG, GROUP HUG!!!! I DO especially like to post on "Pet of the Day." Those little hamsters, mice, ferrets, bunnies, birds, etc. seem to kind of get lost in the shuffle of the doggies and kittys. And while, of course, all the "Pets" of the Day are adorable, sweet, etc. it is the love their owners have for their pals that just gets to me. I know if my creature were selceted, I would be checking every minute to see if anyone posted on my guy!! Have a great day guys! Sandra

I was bored one day so I put in a search for pet forums. I went to some of them and found people bad mouthing dog breeds not concerned for others feelings. and the site moderators telling memebers that if they don't give good advice(what the moderator seems fit) not to post a message. Which made people angery
I ust wanted to say that everyone here at petof the day are wonderful people who love their pets and are respectful to one-a-nother
YOU GUYS ARE GREAT
And thank you Karen and paul for such are great site filled with caring people
KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK

This really is a great bunch of people. I'm a regular on a couple of non-pet sites, and they, too, can get so ugly to each other, sniping and making personal attacks. The people on this post are never like that. We may have different opinions on controversial animal issues, but we only state our opinions, and everyone seems to be open to hearing differing opinions, and never has there been any personal attacks. And we certainly would never claim that anyone's pet is better than another's! They're all special to all of us, as are all their people!

I agree with others who've said this is the best pet site. The entire site is so well designed & easy to navigate by even newcomers to the internet. The moderators are models of what moderators should be...so it's not surprising that the site has attracted people who love their pets, have a sense of humour, are courteous to others & are just all-round great. And it is awesome how people of all ages interact so comfortably & happily. Thank you, Karen & Paul, & thank you, all my fellow contributors.

You all should know how much I love this site because I am here at least 3 times a day, sometimes seeing what others have posted, sometimes putting in my 2 cents worth and always enjoying the dog of the day. I've even started nosing around at cat of the day, and have got to say..You cat people are all right...just as neat as the dog folks.

I would be really interested to know how long this site has been operated, how it got started, and if there are any plans for its future. As there are no advertisements, it appears that it is all work with no remuneration for its operators. Don't get me wrong, I really don't want to see ad's (wasted space), but I also don't ever want this site to go away.

I'm currently filling out a research survey about web use. Guess what website is going to be listed as my #1 favorite!!!
