I have found that since I have become "mom" to my third furkid that I am starting to call out the wrong name at times! http://PetoftheDay.com/talk/biggrin.gif It seems that when one of the cats is being a little naughty (knocking something off a table, etc.) I say a loud NO BELLA!! Poor Bella is my 4 month old puppy and the one most apt to be in trouble. She hates hearing her name used in vain! http://PetoftheDay.com/talk/biggrin.gif I guess some of you with lots more animals than I have, maybe have that problem too? At least I hope so! If not, my mind is going! http://PetoftheDay.com/talk/biggrin.gif

I had Zebo about a year and a half before I had my son Alan. Zebo had been at the rainbow bridge about a year before I finally quit calling my son Zebo!

Leah, I needed to hear that!! http://PetoftheDay.com/talk/biggrin.gif Now I have to say how embarrassed I am just now. http://PetoftheDay.com/talk/redface.gif I just realized I quoted the wrong nursery rhyme. I meant to say "The Old Woman Who Lived In A Shoe." http://PetoftheDay.com/talk/biggrin.gif http://PetoftheDay.com/talk/biggrin.gif Now I KNOW my mind is going!!!

I really have a problem with the same thing. I have four grown children. I often call out two or three names before I get to the right one. Makes me feel like I've lost it.

My pets are enduring the same name confusion, and I often call out the name of a dog I rescued, trained and found a home for three months ago. Instead of scolding one of them, they think she's come back to play and start looking for her.

We have three Grandsons, the one that is here all the time is named Chris, however I keep calling him Frank our son's name. He just looks at me like yup, that's Nana. Although we only have two dogs, so don't get their names mixed up, Daisy is so black and small I can never find her in the house, especially since we have that California blackout and keep the lights low.

LOL! Pam, you'll appreciate this since you know my personal story but on rare ocassions when I have to scold Cody, I sometimes yell "Richard"!, (my brother!) Poor thing, to put them in the same sentence is an insult to the dog! http://PetoftheDay.com/talk/biggrin.gif http://PetoftheDay.com/talk/biggrin.gif

Well, I already told about how I used to call Alan Zebo. We got another kitty named Cosmo. Cosmo was my very favorite cat, but he was a pill! I noticed I was calling him Alan! Then I realized why - they were both bad boys!

When I had Reece, Shiloh, and Harley all at the same time, I would slip often. I always would end up calling Harley "REE-SHi-HARLEY!" or I'd call Reece "Reeloh" or "Shiley" or some other weird combination of their names.

My sister's name is Tara and my grandmother always calls me "tar-Alyson!" hehe http://PetoftheDay.com/talk/smile.gif

Oh, folks, don't limit it to pets! My Great Aunt spent much of her childhood being called Edith-Ethel-Elizabeth-Florence-BERTHA! Her mother would just run down the list of daughters until she got to the right one! I have a niece who I have always been told looks "just like" I did when I was her age. She, of course, was often called Kar-uh-Jessica when being scolded when she was small! People do it to people all the time, why not just throw the pet's names into the mix!?

We only have one dog so it's not too hard to keep it straight, but my Mom has called me Daisy before. Oh, and here's something that will make you all happy: calling someone by the wrong name has nothing to do with age! My youngest sister Rachael is 11, and my other sister Kenzie is 13. Rachael never seems to get our names right for some reason. I am always "Keh-Bridget" and she is "Bri-Kenzie." It's so funny! But my grandfather, now he's awful... he just calls all of my cousins and sisters and I Charlie Brown! Doesn't even bother to get the right name of one of his 17 grandchildren http://PetoftheDay.com/talk/smile.gif
