I took these pictures of Puff yesterday. I have been thinking alot about her , well, "fluffyness" and I had a friend comment to me a week or so ago that "She is getting so fat, what are you feeding her?" It kinda hurt my feelings, made me upset/angry. I let her free feed and then I give her 3 cans (along with Hannah and Stash and Squeeks)per day and treats about every few days. I do give her some table scraps, but that is mainly her daddycat when he comes into town, he cant say no to her. But he doesnt do it very often, because he is only home 4-6 days a month. She weighs probably around 13-15 pounds now, but she is long, so I dont think she is too bad off.
What do you think? does she look unhealthy or overweight? I personally think she looks great, because she does get tons of exercise, but I just dont know. I look at her and think she is perfect in every way, am I missing something? Please be honest, just dont be mean;)
Whispy Puff loves you and misses you!
Here comes her pictures!!

Ahh, freshly vaccummed carpet:

LOL I'm the last person to ask about putting cats on diets. Shadow is 14 lbs. and Callie is 13 lbs. Whisper is actually the dainty one of 11 lbs and he doesn't have an ounce of fat on him--he's all fur. Callie gets table scraps (she's the only one who begs relentlessly aka puts her paw/tongue on my food  ) and they are fed twice a day about two cups in total.

I think Puff is absolutely adorable. The only person's who opinion really counts would be a vet. If a vet says to put her on a diet, then I would.

Whisper sends his love to her Puffiness!

Puff is beautiful! If you fear that she needs to lose, just cut out one of the cans of food (or even 2.......they really don't NEED to have canned quite so often)

Shers no Kirstie Alley,but I would be careful,to try,to keep her,at that weight.Not being cruel,But Scrappy,passed,on,due to Diabtes,caused,by the fcat,that he was overweight.Actually,if you mostly feed Cat Food,you are all right,its the high fat,human foods,that cause,the damage!

ROFLMBO!!!:D :D :D Gary you are such hoot!!!:D

I think Puff looks simply gawwwwgeous! It does sound like they are getting a lot of canned food. I can only tell you that here I give one small can mixed in with dry in the morning and one more can in the evening. That is for all twelve! They are free fed dry the rest of the time.
Now I have thin, medium, and fat cats! I think they may be like people and it depends on their genetics. Maggie Sue is the cow of this house and she eats less than any of the kitties. I gave up trying to figure it out. Unless it becomes a health issue I wouldn't worry about it but I think Jen is right and you may want to cut one can of the food and see how it goes.
Also, table food is the worst! My plate sniffer/snatchers get a few tiny nibbles and then no more.

We really don't care Puff cause you are beautiful!!!:D

My cat, Angel, started to get a little overweight (for her) when she was about 1 1/2 to 2 years old, and the Vet. suggested we put her on Science Diet Adult Lite cat food, which we did. She free feeds, and does not eat canned food. She is a very healthy 10 pounds now, and nobody would ever know that she started out extremely tiny and underweight (8 ounces when she was 8 weeks old!)

If I were you, I think I would ask your Vet. about Puff's ideal weight, and whether or not Puff should be put on a diet of some kind.;)

It does sound like maybe Puff could eat just a wee bit less can / table foods ... we want her to be healthy on PT for a long time. But as far as her looks... she is GORGEOUS, and we love her just like she is!

Don't let anyone make you feel bad or guilty, all cats enjoy eating a bit too much, just like ummm, some of *us*! ;)
