A client of mine received a call from his credit card company. He has the card in his possession. Someone has "hacked" his card number off of the internet. They are having a good old time. The card has been canceled, but we are left to unravel the damage with a long fraud report to complete.
This involves thousands of dollars in fraud use.

PLEASE KEEP AN EYE ON YOUR CREDIT CARD CHARGES AND READ YOUR STATEMENT CAREFULLY.

Good advise forever and always. This kinda stuff really happens a lot, especially during the holiday season - be wise.

While finishing up Christmas shopping yesterday I heard a customer tell the store owner that her pocketbook had been ripped right off her arm down at the Casinos in Atlantic City. She of course notified the police, etc. and within no time at all they had charged $1,900 on her cards right in Atlantic City. That was quite a brazen act, considering the crook obviously knew they had very little time to use the cards since the woman was immediately aware of the theft. Amazing!

I have had mine stolen a couple of times, luckily nothing happened. Always keep the telephone no. on you to call the 24 hour "close down service" It's essential that you ring them immediately to have the account closed before they get time to use it!
