I got this today in my email, please check it out and sign the petition, thanks.

Hi Chelsea,

Imagine if someone suspected of child abuse were given a 15-day notice before anyone from child protective services came by to check in on the children. Chances are everything would seem fine on the day of inspection, right?

Well, guess what - Wal-Mart has been accused of serious child labor violations in three states, and yet the Department of Labor (DOL) just gave them a sweetheart deal, agreeing to give Wal-Mart 15 days notice before any investigations of other allegations! Please act today!

It's pretty outrageous. This slap on the wrist included a $135,540 fine, which is roughly equivalent to the amount of profit Wal-Mart earns every 8 minutes. How much is the safety of children on the job worth?

The real issue here is that Wal-Mart must be held accountable for any proven child labor law violations. The DOL must fully investigate this sweetheart deal, and immediately rescind the 15-day notice provision.

Please sign this petition today to send a letter to the Inspector General of the DOL, protesting this deal and urging a full investigation.

Thank you for acting to protect children today!

I worked at Walmart. There definition of child labor violation is very vague:rolleyes: It is a violation worth thousands of dollars if a minor clocks in one minute early from a break, or one minute after their shift is scheduled to end. I'm not saying that they are saints, but it's not as serious as some people make it out to be:D :D
