I knew an awful lot of people were probably visiting Pet of the Day without looking at Pet Talk, and probably an awful lot of people browse Pet Talk without ever posting. But I was still surprised at how internationally appealing this site is: http://petoftheday.com/about/

I just realized the other day that there must be hundreds of 'lurkers' reading us every day. I had never thought of it that way, but when Augie (i think) joined a few days ago, she mentioned that she had lurked for a few months before joining. Just kind of funny... I never thought my converstaions would be so interesting to such a multitude of people! :D

I did learn one thing about Augie from the GR board.....and Augie is a "he"!! LOL! He and Hoocher Smoocher live in a bachelor pad!!

And I think this was wonderful that you saw this list, Leah. What a compliment to Karen and Paul, especially, but also to all of the folks who contribute the stories of their wonderful pets to Pet of the Day! :D

That is awesome! I had told my mother about DOTD (She lives in Lebanon) and she absolutely loves it. She said she just reads the posts but never has joined. As do many of here friends.

Gosh, does this mean on those days when I "read" but don't "talk", I am a Peeping Pet Talker?

I always think I am writing to "family" when I post on this site. I laugh at some of the stories that I have shared on the "World Wide Web".

But, no matter where you are from - if you love your animals, we are all part of the same family. Pretty darn good people, I would say.

I do that sometimes! I guess it's so easy to assume a poster is a woman if something else does not give them away - most of us are women (or girls) and the stereotype is that women are more gushy about their pets than men. Some are obvious - Troy and Ben, to name a couple, although neither post anymore. And of course it would be a pretty good guess that Noah's Mommy is a female! But I was surprised once to find that LMigliore was a man when I visited the website he had listed on his profile!
