We have a butcher just down the road from us who is also a dog lover. He gives us bags and bags of bones and meat scraps. We love Randy!!

That's it. The shelties have run away.... I heard them muttering something about becomming sled dogs and they were off.... ;)

LOL

I wish I could find a local butcher here that would share some lovely marrow bones with the dogs. They would love them.

How about a meat market or even the meat department in your local grocery store? I've gotten a few to save me bones that way.

Oh, they are adorable! I'm sure they would do great at carting! I've given up on training my hubby too and it's only been 6 years!:p

Well, they might be a little small, but they can ride in the sled! :p Maybe they could herd other loose dogs away from my team! Franklin would appreciate that alot since loose dogs always seem to jump on him!

Randy only does custom butchering--mostly wild game. So he has no market for the bones and scraps if the customer doesn't want them back. Most people don't so he gives it away. He kept our dog food freezer full all winter. The gigantic bison bones were a huge hit!

Now I have found a great butcher that sells me the greatest bones for next to nothing, but for years I bought soup bones at the local grocery store (in the meat section) that the dogs loved. I used to roast them for a couple of hours before they got them, but had started to just boil them for about ten minutes and I never had a problem. I found them at grocery stores in all three of the cities that I lived in, so check the meat section, they must be in your city too!!

Dusty is sad....:( :( :( :( Ever since he cracked his bottom K9 tooth, mom won't give him any more delicious bones. :( :( :(
Mom misses him chewing bones too because it kept him busy for an hour or so. Now he just follows me around like velcro stuck on my leg!

Your pups sure are having a great time chewing! Hopefully they remembered to thank Mr. Butcherman with lots of wagging tails and slurppy kisses! ;)
