I wanted to create a thread for all of us to post photos of pets we grew up with, or that have long since passed. A thread for remembrance, but a little different than memorial threads. I want this to be a happy thread, full of happy memories you spent with your dogs. :)

Only good stories please. ;)

This is my girl Tigger, I called her Tigs. She was very special to me and my family. Tigger is out of our GSD female. Tigger was the runt, and nobody wanted her because of her "floppy" ear.

But, I'm glad because then we wouldn't have had all those memorable moments with her. She also ahd a litter of 2 pups:) Tigger was 17-years-yound when she left us to earn her wings. She has very severe hip dysplasia as well as eyesight, hearing and soem smell gone! She was the onyl thing that I thought about at night, and the only thing I thought about in the morning. She was always there for me, and still is.

She meant everything to me and was my only friend. She was very special! I wished she could have lived forever, here are soem pictures of her.

This is Tigger as a  6 month old:confused: puppy

I would love to but all of my old photos are from the 70's and 80's and it would take forever to scan them all. I've always been somewhat of a camera junkie so I have thousands of pictures.

Chelsea is the only one I have pics of online. She went to the bridge 10/7/00.
Eventually I'll get the others on here.

This is Opus. He was a dog we found wandering around on the streets with heavily matted ears and heartworms. We took him in, treated his worms and gave him a home. He had to be PTS for being a fear biter about a month later, on May 23, 2002. :(

This was my big boy, Brut. I rescued Brut from an abusive person. My big boy was beaten and shot. I kept him for about 2 years and my landlord made me get rid of him or she would've evicted me. :( I gave him to some good friends who had a farm where he could run and play.
One week later, he ran away and got hit by a truck and went to the RB. The woman I gave him to swore she thought he was trying to come back to me. Maybe he was...he never ran away when I had him. I still cry when I think of him and how I was the reson he died. :( :(

My first dog, love of my life, best friend and my most valued posession... Brooke, who died a few days after knee surgery (from a perforated intestine, though we aren't sure what caused it). Poor girl, we had no idea going in..

She died at 7 1/2. It will be 1 year in May, but it was yesterday in my heart.

Everyone has some BEAUTIFUL dogs! I'll bet they are all having an excellent time playing together at the Rainbow Bridge.:)

Luckies4me, odd eyed dals are somewhat common. I had one. I'm not going to post mine because I don't know where they are or wether they are still alive.

Here's a picture from Christmas 1982, I believe. The little girl in the picture is me and the dog in the front of the picture is our family dog, Rags. He was a mutt my dad rescued from the alleys of Baltimore and he turned out to be the greatest dog. The only bad thing about him was his breath. My dad always said "Rags could knock a buzzard off a sh!t wagon at 50 paces". LOL

RIP, Raggie... Spring 1977 - July 9, 1993

4 Dog Mother

This is a picture of Mickey and Simon, the first dogs Carl and I had together. We got Mickey in New Jersey - his mother was a weimeraner and his dad a beagle. We got Simon in Arizona (Carl was in the Army and those were his first two posts). We had them until after I had Rob so I guess for about 4 or 5 years. But then I got sick, Amy was just 2 and Carl was working and going to school so we had to give them away. I physically could not handle the dogs and the kids all day by myself. It still makes me sad to think about them - maybe that is why I adopt dogs that no one else wants!!!
