Fish bone art

A Chinese woman has become famous for turning old fish bones into works of art.

The pictures of divorced mum Liu Huirong, 54, are now on view in the Capital Museum of China.

Liu, from Guangzhou city, Guangdong province, first started to make fish bone drawings around 20 years ago, reports Guangzhou Daily.

Everyday, she collects fish bones from roadside rubbish bins and degreases, marinates and chemically treats them before sticking them to a canvas.

Each fish bone picture takes several months and one, Spring's Back, took her two years and more than 100,000 fish bones to complete.

There I was, minding my own business, just swimming up stream and then.....BAM!

Here I am stuck to a canvas!

Hummm, interesting. I wonder why they thought it important
to include the fact that she was divorced? :D

Would you stay married to someone who smelled like fish?

Neat picture.:) I would hope that the bones are treated in
such a way as to get rid of the smell. Is that her artwork?

Degreased, marinated (In what  ) and chemically treated (with  ) and then used. I have to admit it is a stunning piece of artwork from what would be considered garbage otherwise. Do you have a link to more of this (the only word that come to mind is fart)....fish art.

I just surfed a bit myself, and found info about persons by that name, and tortures decribed! One quick blurb about the artist, along with the same picture you posted done by her. It actually fascinates me in it's intricacy! Didn't go any further however....too much to do here.
