koxka made the comment the we don't see enough iguanas on PT. So I thought I would make a thread.

This is my iguana, Izzy. We rescued him almost 4 years ago. We got him from a woman who was keeping him in a dog crate that he could hardly turn around in. I'm not sure how old he is, maybe aruond 6 years old? From his head to the tip of his tail he is about 41/2 feet long.

I'll just re-post my pictures for the other day, If thats ok.

Vern. Vern is 7 foot long head to tail. We have had him about 5 years now. We have no idea how old he is as he was a rescue, and big when we got him, about 4 1/2 foot.

Some day, when I'm more experienced in reptiles, I'll get an Iguana. Goregeous and magestic lizards they are, and intelligent to boot! Maybe when I finally get my own house, I'll give him (her) a spare bedroom.

aww he's such a handsome man!

I don't have an iggy but we did foster one before, his name was Melvel(from the Rugrats, Chuckies pet bug;) ). It was a long time ago, but it was cool to have him, I think we had him for 3 months before he found a new home, I also think it was our vet that adopted him from us, he's really into reptiles.

Oops I did forget LOL.
Well here they are anyways don't mind the mess he just ate. His name is Rex he is a rescue and was very abused in his before life. A few months ago he was doing really bad we thought we were gonna loose him, but my mother nursed him back to health and he is doing better everyday. In the morning he gets a bath in the bath tub and then hangs out on his shelf the rest of the day. Rex doesn't have a cage he has a shelf and gets free roam of the house whenever he wants it. He isn't as friendly as we would like from the past abuse, but he tolerates us humans ;) Here he is.
ENJOY! :D :D
edit: he is orange cuz he was just in mating mode... I thought he was grumpy normally you should have seen him then!
