Since I did the "Lets talk about Pete" thread a lot of you were glad to hear his story. So I have decided to do a "Let's Talk About ____" thread for all twelve. I'll do one a day so everyone gets to know all the BRATS!
I'm going to go in order of arrival so I don't get confused.
Hubby and I had been together for a few "pet free" years and I was having a hard time dealing with that. I had always had animals but we lived in an apartment and I was hoping to wait until we had a house. I knew future hubby(at that time) said that he liked animals but he was more of a dog person and didn't really want a cat (LOL!!!).
One day my mother calls and says she and my niece had spotted two very young and tiny kittens on the side of the road. They stopped the car and chased them down. She had one gray one and a yellow one. She already had lots of animals and she begged me to take one. Hubby agreed (to make me happy) but he had a very sour look on his face when we went to get him. I could tell that he wasn't that happy about it at all! My brother had agreed to take which ever one we didn't so to involve hubby more I told him to pick which one he wanted. Very reluctantly he picked the little yellow one.
We got him home and he immediately wanted hubby and not me! You know how cats really love the ones that don't like them?! We thought we had a girl and I named her Sally. Within a few weeks we realized that we didn't have a girl at all! I immediately changed his name to Sammy.
Hubby was always trying to shake the little bugger but Sammy was having none of that! He took hubby hook, line, and sinker! He is still hubby's cat!
Almost always in hubby's lap

Always snuggled up in bed with his daddy (Geez hubby would KILL me if he knew I posted this picture!)

Now Sammy was king of the castle when we moved here. He was the only cat for two years. He was such a good boy when Leroy moved in. He may not be Mr. Sociable to everyone but he sure accepted all the newbies with so much grace. His whole world has been flipped upside down since we moved here and started rescuing. He really deserves so much more credit than he gets.
He can get some serious attitude

But he can also be very sweet

He loves to play "Ride in the Box"

Sammy really does't get the credit he deserves and I think he certainly deserves a thread of his own. Poor little fellow went from King of the Castle to being one of twelve. He is the Alpha and we make sure it stays that way. Only Leroy has been dumb enough to challenge him though!
He's handsome and never bothers anyone as long as they don't disturb his daddy or his spot in the bed!

Thats our Sammy! He is called Sammy Boy, Samus, and Sambo around here. He is his daddy's boy but we both love him very much. He sure has accepted a lot in the last few years and never complained or got nasty about any of the newbies. I think that makes him pretty special.
