ok, i mentioned in another thread that i was adopting another dog today, well here he is....
this is the first pic of him, at the shelter
http://www.imagestation.com/picture/sraid160/p7eee94df7ab151082cbb0a9418b05f03/f4ef95a3.jpg

as we came out of the "puppy room" i saw him chained to the wall, his old "owners" had just dropped him off. their reason for leaving him was that he DOESN'T bark. they wanted a guard dog. he is very very underweight, and timid (no wonder). i just hope they cannot adopt another dog EVER. when i saw him cowering and looking so sad, i knew he was the one for me.

i think him and tito are soul mates, it was love at first sight!!!
he is very weak at the moment, he collapsed when he was jumping out of the car and his legs aren't very strong. it makes me so sad what people can do to animals. the nicest thing those people ever did for him was leaving him at the shelter.

Oh he is so sweet! You can see sadness in his eyes. I bet his eyes will be sparkling in no time, now that hes with you. I'm so glad you picked him and that he got a loving home. What kind of dog is he? When he fills out he is going to be awesome looking.

tito is in heaven! he loves his new brother!!! :D

this is bella, she is... not so impressed, as you can see from her expression. http://www.imagestation.com/picture/sraid160/p1cd8a660dc12160cf14807e9efe3f556/f4ef9595.jpg

i think she will come around eventually

i love the name bo, my auntie had a big beautiful dog named bo (which she rescued from a similar situation). the only problem is i call him bobo, which means "dummy" or "stupid" in spanish!!!
but i don't care, i love the name and i LOVE THE DOG.
he is such a cuddle bug, and i think thats why bella is jealous, she is used to being my lapwarmer!

That first picture - that look! No wonder you had to take him home. I cannot wait to see him all filled out now that he's getting FED, and he and Tito look like brothers already! :) Give them both hugs from me, and give little Bella a skritch and tell her brothers aren't THAT bad, they get better with time!

the best thing about him is... HE IS HOUSETRAINED!!!
no cleaning puppy poop up off the floor *dances around room punching the air*

Bo is fitting in just fine. tito has finally left him alone to let him sleep, so he is curled up by my feet. Oliver (the cat) even likes Bo. Oliver pretends to hate dogs, but secretly loves them... i have proof.
http://www.imagestation.com/picture/sraid160/p0cb88dd349fe56a59557dba3dc8d8ab2/f4ef95ab.jpg can't you see the guilty expression in his eyes at getting caught sleeping with the dog (eww, yuck)

What kind of dog is he? When he fills out he is going to be awesome looking.
i was wondering what breed he is too. i wanted to ask the vet at the shelter, but they were so busy, and i just wanted to get him home. i am going to take him to my vet in a couple of days for a once over. he looks like a great big mix of dogs, anyone have any ideas on what kind of breed he is?

http://www.imagestation.com/picture/sraid160/p1032e4443cd5e291729709b08696c24f/f4ef77d7.jpg http://www.imagestation.com/picture/sraid160/pdc8477c8306b9d07ad77be0c732b0cad/f4ef77d0.jpg

he is really small, he comes up to just below my knee, but he looks like he should have a really muscular build. his head and paws look huge compared to his body, but i guess thats just because he is so skinny.
when i first saw him i thought he was only about 4 or 5 months, but he is almost one year old.

omg! good for you :)! how awesome for you to give that poor boy a happy life... his eyes kill me ^_^. he looks like such a sweetie, and he reminds me a lot of my sisters new pup... she was also very shy when they first got her a week ago and very skinny, she's now bouncy and outgoing like pups should be and still on the skinny side but very well-fed!

Tito and Bo look sooo cute together! Tito is a handsome boy, too! Bo looks like he's definitely a pittie boy.... maybe with some shepherd or border collie?

I agree with bckrazy. I think he probably has some pit in him. He really does have beautiful eyes. Let us know what your vet thinks he is.

i am going to wait a couple of days for him to get settled in before i take him to the vets. i also need to make an appointment to have him fixed.

there is one really strange thing about it. when the shelter gave me his passport, the whited out his old name, and filled in Bo. i thought i was really lucky to get his original passport, with a record of all his injections.
but when i brought him home, i had a closer look at the passport, and they erased a lot of info. the dog on his passport was "dina" and a female. i don't get it. why would they falsificate documents? now i don't know what kind of shots he needs or doesn't need, or his correct age.

I'm so glad you adopted him. He reminds me a lot of Aspen (who I adopted just last week). They're both really skinny and the same colors, same ears and expression. Aspen doesn't bark, either. Probably afraid to.

Congratulations on your new home, Bo!

What a lucky fellow Bo is to have been there at the same time you were! Or should I say how lucky you were!?! He does have beautiful eyes, and I think his name is so cute.

Thank you for saving this poor little soul, it won't be long at all and he will be filled out with the good care, and food he gets.

Willie:)

Congratulations to you and your family on getting such a catch! I bet Bo is going to be the happiest pup around after spending some time with you and getting some meat on his bones.

Sure looks like he's got some friends now;) And as for calling him Bobo, I sure wouldn't worry about it. I have a mastiff and his name is Bon..so needless to say I call him "Bonbon":o

Again congrats on this great find and I can't wait to see pictures of him as he starts to get fattened up a little!

OMG! His face is so beautiful. It's very upsetting to know he is underweight anf neglected. I can't belive he collapsed. Poor boy! Who could neglect the adorable face? His eyes show his expression. I LOVE HIM! He is the cutest face ever. The sweetness would NEVER make a good guard dog! I can guarentee those idiots that dumped him with get another guard dog.

Aw, that first picture is so touching! looks like Tito is trying to comfort Bo. My eyes got all teary when you told his story, poor baby. And you are right, the kindest thing those people ever did was to take him to a shelter. It will be wonderful to watch as he fills out and gets to have some happiness!

Well, since this thread is months old and I don't think I saw it when you first posted... i'm glad someone bumped it up!

Your dogs are soooo precious, Jackie! I think some new pictures are in order. :)

I was thinking the same thing when I saw it this morning too, Kay. I don't remember seeing this thread before. But I think now that it has re-surfaced, we need to see new pictures of the family to see how everyone has fit in together. ;)

He looks a little underweight too for a dog his type/size. GRRRR owners like that make me so angry!! But that's in the past now and YOU have him now and now he'll have a good and happy life and that's all that matters!

edit: ah but since this is old then I can't wait to see recent pictures of him!!

That is so sad. He is really thin, why would anyone ever do that to a dog. They don't deserve to have another dog, or any pet for that matter. What cruel people. It was so nice of you to give him another chance at a good life. Congrats big guy!
