haha, a random thread!!:p I can carry Blaze, he's about 40 pounds. It's so funny...I'll pick him up, and he goes limp, and loves to be held!:D

I voted both "Yup" and "Are you kidding"!!

Chloe is only about 15 pounds, so she gets carried a lot. Venus is about 80 pounds...I could pick her up if I really wanted, but my back doesn't exactly agree.

Sahara....Yeah, right! I think we're up to 110 pounds now!

I couldn't vote because I can carry Sierra (60 lbs) but I can NOT carry Buddy's big butt (90lbs)

That's what I voted. But I guess if I had to I could carry Huney for a short while. But I could never ever carry Bon:eek: :D

I voted are u kidding, i have not been able to carry these two since they were little puppies, although sometimes Rita thinks she is still a baby and would probably agree with being carried if i could pick her up.

Happy is my heaviest dog at 25lbs I can carry a couple at a time lol

I can carry Peej since he only weighs 33 lbs. Neither one of us likes it, though.

I don't carry Bailey because at 45 lbs, she's just a little too heavy. I lift her when we go to the vet, but that's it. :)

Yup, I carry Gigi all the time. :) I love holding her. Even though she is only 10lbs, I can only carry for a short period of time. ;)

Yes and I do all the time. I just won a doggie backpack with wheels on eBay the other day, so soon I can wear or wheel one around! :D

I had to laugh at this poll. My dog Scooby is the smallest but the heaviest of my dogs! (35 lbs) He is a powerhouse!
However, when he had his stroke he went paralyzed on his ENTIRE Right side! The vet told me that he would tend to walk to the right almost in a circle.
I worked very hard to rehabiliated Scooby. We would walk to the mailbox which was only 2 streets from my house. The first few weeks we would get to the mailbox but he couldn't make it back!:( He would stop and not move until I picked him up.
I was kind of embarrassed because I had to walk in front of ALL my neighbors carrying my dog, a handful of mail, and the other dog on a leash! Everyone knew I spoiled my dogs rotten but to be seen in public actually carrying my dog was too much!

I can carry Reecie easily. I can pick Lolly up but don't generally carry her unless I HAVE to. She doesn't enjoy it anyway.

Tommy no way, I can't even lift him off the ground. I can pick Tasha up and carry her a short way but she's close to 50 pounds, so not very far. She goes limp in my arms like a puppy too when picked up.

Oh and Tommy's weight is 85 pounds, Tasha is 47.

During the last few months of Sami's life I carried her up and down the stairs whenever it was required. She was a heavy 60 lbs and I weigh 100 lbs. But I loved her so much that it wasn't that difficult. Sasha is 43 lbs and hates to be picked up. The only time she gets lifted is into the vehicle.

Yup! Nino is 50 lbs, he doesn't like to be held, but if he is getting out of line and won't come in from the backyard, I sometimes pick him up and carry him in. Nino is considered a medium sized (on the small size of medium) dog by most of our freinds, we tend to go for the neos, danes, mastiffs, etc.

I always pick Lexi up and carry her around the house. I sneak up the stairs with her at night and hold her because I'm not aloud:p Lexi is only 10 pounds:)She used to be 12, but we've been exercising more and took off all of her baby "phat";)

Tweety_Pie

I can't carry my dogs around but I have picked Lacey up a couple times. When she had to go the vet after she hurt her leg I picked her up and put her in the truck. She weighs 70 lbs. Lifting her out and setting her down was nothing, but the couple times I lifted her in was not so easy! Pick up Mandy, forget it, she's around 90 lbs! :D

lol Happys is 25lbs, but actually feels even light as she is 21" tall so that little weight is spread accross a large space lol Misty is 25lbs as well, but feels heavier because she is 3 inches smaller then Happy lol Ripley is 18lbs and Perky is 23lbs and blair is 20lbs lol huge difference in height but teeny differnces in weight lol

If I have to and am in a big enough panic, I can lift and carry any of them--even the two 130 pounders. I have carried Kayleigh and lifted her into the back seat of my truck twice when she has been hurt and couldn't make it on her own. When Preacher fell in the crawl space a couple months ago, I lifted his 80 pound butt up over four feet and pushed him over my head to get him out! Adrenaline is a wonderful thing!

Normally, I don't try to lift the real big ones. I can lift them all enough to straighten out tangles when they are sledding.

I love carrying Ozzy around and he seems to enjoy it too. I sometimes carry him around the yard for a few minutes and he just snuggles right into me.

Yup. my little fuzhead only weighs 8 or 9 pounds,, so its really easy to pick him up and take him anywhere. :D

03-03-2005, 05:31 PM
No way!:D Cody weighs in at 75 lbs and Star, 63. I could maybe carry Star if I had to but could never lift her...too wiggly:D

I can carry Snowy, she is only around 13 pounds! I love just to carry her around the house when she is sleepy and cuddles up to me. :)

03-03-2005, 05:52 PM
I can carry Prince and Otis, but not Digger or Chubby.

Tina
03-03-2005, 05:57 PM
I can carry Ginger she is 10 lbs, Reggie is 20lbs, and Tori is about 12 lbs so I can carry them pretty easily.

As for Junior he is about 65 lbs I can left him but not carry him.

Cincy'sMom
03-03-2005, 07:05 PM
I can carry all of mine, but generally don't. I have picked them up and held them for lengths of time so they could visit people in hospital beds, and such at therapy visits. Even though Cincy and Sadie weigh the same, Sadie is much easier to lift and carry becuase the weight distribution.

(Spot weighs 50 lbs, Sadie and Cincy about 75)

I can carry Major. I can easily lift him up and do quite often, but I don't carry him as often. I'm not sure how much he weighs.

If I was desperate enough, I could probably carry them, but I wouldnt get too far......Star weighs about 50 lbs and Sherman about 53 lbs. My son still picks Star up and carries her around like a little puppy - he's the only one she lets do this to her!!! With others, she gets very indignant.
(but I can heft her up onto a vet's table by myself)

Nebo is 60 lbs and I can pick him up and carry him. I've carried him quite far before...like from the backyard up 2 flights of stairs to the bathroom when he's all muddy.

Reggie is around 20 lbs and Sydney around 15 I think. Reggie hates to be held he goes all stiff so I don't pick him up unless I have to. Syd is a snuggler, I pick her up and carry her quite often.

My big sucky baby Samson weighs in at 160lbs of pure muscle. I can pick him up ..just... to put him him in the bath. He won't get in himself as he hates baths lol. He weighs 30lbs more than I do!!

He is a mixture of large German Shepherd, English Mastiff and Rottweiller and the softest most gentle lovable dog I have seen!

He still thinks he is a 25lb pup and loves to lie across our legs on the sofa! :D

Elvis i can easily carry, but Clover nuh uh she weighs too much. Elvis weighs 17 Kilograms and Clover weighs in at about 30 kiliograms. Penny and Theo i can definitely carry, they both weigh 5 Kilograms each.

Haha, thats funny. No I can't carry Goliath, he weighs 111 lbs. He used to weigh 120 and we were the exact same weight. He still thinks he is the 8 lbs he was when we got him and tries to sleep on my lap.

My husband can carry him though, one time we were for a walk and the salt and ice and cold were bothering his feet and he started to limp, so my husband carried him the rest of the way home. It looked pretty silly but you gotta do what you gotta do.

Raven is like 55 pounds and yet she is hard to pick up and lug around, I carry her like a baby!! Sport on the other hand is a piece of cake! I think he is like 15-20....he gets carried the same way Raven does. Those spoiled little pups lol!

I my summer job we have to be able to lift at least 80 lbs. Autumn is 45lbs and Pepper is 20lbs and Sonny is 17lbs. If they were all in a crate together I could carry them all at once.

I can carry the two chihuahuas, but there is no way I can carry my big ole Rottie, she weighs close to 100 lbs. So I really didn't know how to vote on this one!
