I finally got my Oregon pics uploaded! Really late, I know. It was pretty much a good time, except for the 12 hour drive there and back 0_0! My sister's Dad has some really nice orchards, on like 50 acres. They live in Hood River, which is right on the border of Oregon/Washington by the Columbian River, so we could see Washington from their home. We also went to WA, but it was kinda boring :p

I finally got to meet Buddyyy! He was such a sweetie and soooo gorgeous, but CRAZY. I could not handle owning a Lab, just a little too outgoing for me ;) but he was cool. He's actually LabxPointer, my sister rescued him and his siblings from an abandoned box in front of Wal-Mart, but I think he mostly inherited the Lab part. Me and my sister went 4-wheeling around their property and he ran right next to us for 2 hours! He's a very happy doggeh :)

stuff for Buddy! I need a job ..

:) yeah, I didn't want to subject Gonzo to that loong boring car ride! also, my sisters Dad and StepMom don't allow dogs inside unless it's below 0 degrees at night

So beautiful!!! Ever since my uncle moved to Oregon, I've wanted to visit him forever. Mostly, I wanted to visit Multnomah Greyhound Park... but...unforunately, they closed (-please, don't comment-). He lives somewhere in Portland:p Beautiful pics!

looks beautiful there! 50 acres! That would be a dream for me!! I bet in the middle of summer when everything is green and in blume, it is awesome!! Buddy is a BIG labby boy!! lol His paws are HUGE in the photo!!! He is a gorgeous boy though! It was so sweet of you to bring him all those treats!

aw, thanks everyone! He LOVED that ball (they were all amazed he hadn't destroyed it after a day), and he loved the Pupcorn, it was his first time trying popcorn at all :).. its really pretty up there, I cannot believe how cheap it is compared to California too! Here, it costs at least 800k-1million for a newer house on a few acres, there it costs 100-200k .. and it seemed so much cleaner and more environment-friendly there. The drive was SO boring and monotonous though! lol.

Giselle, I saw a Grey Park right off of Highway 5... don't remember the name though . I did hear that Oregon is one of the few states were Greyhound racing is still legal. Personally, I think I'd still prefer lure coursing ;) that's amazing to watch!

I know! :) the whole time I was there I was thinking, "Gonzo would love this SO much". He really needs a bunch of acreage to run on! It was so pretty there, there's huge trees everywhere, and we got to see some of the Redwoods on the drive up. there are literally no trees where I live in Cali, they've all been cut down ;) I think our house is barely a 1 acre lot, and thats big for this area...

I wasn't aware that Greyhound racing is still legal here. I'll have to check into that.

I'm from California, and have been here in Oregon for 5 years now and will NEVER go back. It is cheaper to live here, no taxes except cigarettes and alcohol, and it is MUCH MUCH cleaner and safer than California. It's absolutely beautiful here! :D

I'm convinced- Oregon is for me. City areas are only good for shopping. Amen.:p

I'm pretty sure Greyhound racing is still legal in OR, but Multnomah closed down a while ago. My uncle called to tell me that and I was devastated. Multnomah was 100% adoption and mostly everybody thought it was a model Greyhound race track. (Jcsperson knows more about this.) I like lure coursing, but the dogs that can actually physically compete in the sport is very minimal. The sport is *very* demanding and track stars aren't always lure coursing stars. Again...difference in opinions and build. Me, I like NOTRA and LGRA. It's like Greyhound racing except all purebred sighthounds are allowed and there's no betting. It's mostly a Whippet thing, though:p
