(I copied and posted this from one of the Yahoo Groups digests that I get. This school principal is in danger of losing his job, for doing a good deed)!

This past weekend, the DC Department of Health and Alley Cat Allies spayed
and neutered over 500 cats in Washington, DC.

However, there has been fallout from the event and the principal of the
school where the event was held is in jeopardy of losing his job.

Please go to http://action.alleycat.org/action/index.asp to send an email
in support of the principal of Eaton Elementary School, Dr. Willie
McElroy, if you haven't already, and please forward this to anyone you
think will be supportive. Thanks!

Post, post, and cross-post. This is urgent.

Signed it. How ridiculous is it that the complaints of a few idiots (probably not pet-ownders) could lose this man his job, for such a great deed for our animal friends?

signed from here as well. how ridiculous.....and I am also willing to bet, as someone else mentioned, that the people who complained are not pet owners....

I haven't heard anything myself, but there are a few stories on their website regarding this event.

If anyone else hears anything..I'd sure like to know as well. And who'd like to form a TNR date for the parents that are bellyaching? You can rest assured that these ones doing all this squacking probably have unaltered animals!

I read the Washington Post every day and there has been no more mention of this incident. The DC school system has enough other problems that maybe this went away like it should have.
