Subject: A message from your bunny rescuers

HI everyone: NTRS is once again facing a huge veterinary bill of
$1300. We don't have the money to cover it. If you are in the
position to send a donation now would be the time to do it. Many of
us on the Board give as much personal money as we can but until our
next fundraiser in May we are running on a very tight budget.

The two rabbits that were treated both developed abcesses under their
chins. When the first one happened we just thought "it happens"
sometimes from a scratch or a nip. When the second rabbit developed
an abcess in the same spot we decided that they must be chinning
something in the cage that was sharp. We immediatley moved them into
a diffeent cage. Surgery for removal of abcesses is difficult and
expensive and we felt that the prognosis would be good and so the
money was well spent in saving them. Unfortunately, the little girl
bunny "Trance" was one of a few that was allergic to the Penicillin
injections and she turned septic and although we struggeled for a
week with fluids and syringe feeding we had to make the decision the
past Monday morning to euthanize her because she had lost too much
weight and had a temperature of 104. She was going to die. The only
thing we could do at that point was make it a merciful death and so
we did after shedding many tears.

We feel very uncomfortable asking for donations but I am afraid we
must. Please help if you can.

You can send it to
