Urghhhhhhhhhhhh *Screams* my dear Brother *Sarcasm* has decided to go to dodgy website and my computer now has a virus, i keep get casino pop ups  x 1000s. I have gotton rid of this stuff so many times and frankly i am VERY sick of it.

I am going to put a ban on alot of web content so it does not happen again. Everyone take care i will be back when i can, this could mean tonight or it could mean a couple of weeks depending on how vicious this thing is.

:(

Make sure you use a firewall mate. Zone Alarm is good plus it's free. :D also get ad-aware, it gets rid of those spy programs that slow down your computer. Finally, use mozilla firefox instead of IE, it's quicker and has it's own built in ad blocker. I assume you have anti-virus. Make sure you do a check on your start-up memory, a lot of trojans hide them selves there. You might look at getting a uninstaller program also. This will firmly delete any of those casino jobies that stick on your hard drive.
Viruses are a pain, hope your up & running soon.

I agree with oggyflute. Also, download spybot search and destroy and adware. And, ban your brother from your computer! Make it password protected, too. I've just started using firefox and love it. Internet Exploder is just an accident waiting to happen.

If this happens again, rather than a total reformat you can run what's called a "repair install". This takes your computer "back in time' to before the virus attack. It works very well most of the time. "Snapshots" of your machine from different times reside in some secret place in the win directory.

I run Trend Micro every once in a while. It's free and will delete off any trojans and virsus'.

I also use Norton, but some sneak past it and Trend Micro takes care of them.

For spyware I use Adaware and Spybot.

And finally, use Firefix instead of Internet Explorer. I've been using it for about 2 months and it rocks! :D

Get it here:
