flying squirrels

does anyone know any of the ins and outs of resocializing a flying squirrel to a new owner? My co-worker just adopted a gal (named Banana) who had been with her owner for several years and is now being very skittish and shy. She wants to make her as comfortable as possible of course and as soon as possible because more time Banana is scared is more time to undo her (Banana's) anxiety. Anyone?

would it help if people knew them as sugar gliders? Same thing, they are very tiny and shy. Any social info would be great! Thanks all!!

Sugar Gliders and Flying Squirrels are two very different animals. ;) I would suggest posting to an Exotic animal list, such as Exotic Pet Haven.
