How tall are you?

Thought this would be an interesting thread! I’m 5’9”…a lot of people say that’s tall, but I don’t know…I think I’ve stopped growing though!;)

I'm almost 5'2". lol my Mom is shorter than I am though she's exactly 5'0", My Dad's 5'8" or somewhere around there and my brother is only 13 years old so I'm sure he's going to be doing alot more grwoing but at the moment he's 5'4".

I'm 5'10" When I was in 7th grade I was the second tallest person in class. Only 1 boy taller than me....and I hated it so bad! However, now that I'm all grown up, I wouldn't give up being tall for anything! Ok, so I could stand being maybe 1/2" to 1" shorter, just so clothes fit better - it's really hard to find pants that are long enough. But I would take being tall over being short any day!

Also, there are statistics that show that tall people end up doing "better" in life - they get the better jobs, they make more money, etc. So to all you "young'uns" out there that hate being tall, don't worry, you will learn to love it. The boys won't all be shorter than you forever!

Oh, and get used to the pick up line "I looove tall women." <gag>:rolleyes: ;) :D

I see I am in the majority, yahoo, a shortie here 5 ft 2 and half inches, cannot forget the half, my son is 5 ft 8 (not very tall for a guy) and my daughter is the same height as me at 12, her Dad is 6 ft 1 inch tall , I am the same height as my mother and my son is the same height as my father, my sister is 5ft 6 and both her children are tall.

I'm between 5'7" and 5'8". I totally got gyped of the tall gene. Both of my parents are 6'1", my brother is 6'6", the uncles on my mom's side are 6'11" and 6'7", and my grandpa was 6'5". Oh, how it sucks to be the short one in the family.

However, with my weight... I wish I was a LOT taller. The "porkasaurous gene" also runs in my family... and I seemed to get that one!

It's a good thing, for now. You're probably not done growing yet, don't despair! I didn't reach my final 5'6" until I was 18. My Dad went in the Army just after he turned 17, (he graduated high school a year early, so did my mom) and so grew more than an inch during Basic Training, so when he finally got to wear his "dress" uniform the issued him when he joined, it didn't fit anymore, and he got in trouble for it!

I'm actually 173cm. A bit of a shorty. My partner though is about 169cm so she is the shorty of the family. Not including the kids though that even on two paws only reach my stomach. :D
What that is in feet & inches :confused: I'm a bit too crook to get my brain into gear for that one.

I am 4'11" and have to use a step stool to reach the top of the blackboard in class! My husband is 6'2" so we look like Manda Moo's parents too! I don't mind being short except when I am trying to reach high shelves in the supermarket LOL

P.S. Even here in China I am shorter than most of my students!

I guess that I'm one of the tall ones here since I'm some where between 5'9" and 5'10".:) I always hated being tall but now I like it because if I gain a little weight it never really shows.:) My Mom is 6'1" and was this tall when she was only 12 years old. I'm used to metric system as well. Here is the conversion:

173 cm = 67.5 inches = 5' 7.5"
169 cm = 65.9 inches = 5' 5.6" or 5' 6" if you like :D

I am not sure if the conversion is right: I am 1m70cm, which should be 66.929 inches, or 5.577 feet. This is not tall, nor small. I can reach all shelfes in department stores, so I am happy with my length ;)

It's good to look young!! Trust me, I guess I look A LOT older than I am, and everyone mistakes me for being 18-20 really!! It's scary, especially when I'm only 14!:D

Oh, also, I didn't know I was one of the tallest people on PT! Wow!:D (no offense, there are great things about being short too!!);)
