What software do you all use to burn CDs?

I need something that will make exact copies of data CDs.

I have MusicMatch Jukebox that I use to burn audio CDs, but it does not make exact copies of data CDs.

I did have Sonic Record in the past, but it no longer recognizes my drive & it costs $$$ to update the software.

Anyone know of any free downloads or trials that I could try?

IMO, Roxio has done nothing but caused me problems. However, I don't know what I'm using right now... I'll have to check. We just recently reformatted my computer by wiping everything clean, and I have nothing.

I did a search for free nero and got this. Don't know if it's a full version or not but it's worth a try.

Of course, you should scan for viruses before opening and installing and afterwards, I would do a Spybot scan, too. Can't be too careful.

did you all pay for Roxio or did it come on your computer?

I'd like to find a free version and Roxio looks like it's going to cost $$$ to download.

dukedogsmom: I checked out that link . . . looks like one of those offers where you have to buy something else to get it. :(

There's gotta be something!

I downloaded a free trial of Nero and I can't remember if I used it or not. What I use to burn my pictures is like "Stomp RecordNow Max" or something. It was slightly funny but annoying...I had been looking everywhere on the net for free trials to burn my pictures, and of the many ones I downloaded, none worked. So I was just about to give up but tried one off of my downloading music program...which turned out to be Stomp, and its worked good. I was trying to do it the legal way and that caused so much frustration! I'm pretty sure Stomp would do what you're asking though.

Sorry about that. That place contained a lot of junk. Cnet is very reliable and I hadn't thought about it. Here's a link to a free download.

Bad news is it's only good until the 28th. I guess your best bet is Roxio. Or do Nero now and burn like crazy.
