Does anyone here love dragons the way I do? I was never a fan of them until I read the Dragon Prince/Dragon Star series, and now I can't get enough of them!

Anywho, Animal Planet is having a Dragon show on Sunday March 20th. Here's a link (http://animal.discovery.com/convergence/dragons/dragons.html) to their dragon page if you're interested. It looks pretty good. :)

Perhaps someone could record it for you? It's a shame you don't get Animal Planet. :(

I love Dragons too! I was collecting the pewter ones with a crystal until lack of money stopped me. I have 9 dragons on their own and 1 with a gnome type creature. I also have 1 pegusus, 1 unicorn alone, 1 unicorn with a wizard, and 3 of wizards with baby dragons. And I have a white figurine of a Pegusus and baby too. :)

Oh, and I love this wallpaper! :D

You should read the Dragon Rider of Pern series by Anne McCaffrey! They are WONDERFUL books all about dragons :D

I also love the book Dragon Rider by Cornella Funke .. Kinda looks like a "kids book" but it is REALLY good :D

That's pretty too! :D

This one is usually the wallpaper I use when I'm in the mood for dragons. It's from the game Neverwinter Nights.

I think this dragon is so pretty. :)

Is that the american cover? My cover doesn't look like that :o

I love Anne McCaffrey, she is my favorite author. I recently read Dragon's Kin, it was very good. Anne and her son Todd wrote it together. I loved every moment of it!

Love the Dragon pictures! :D

I would have liked to take a picture of each one of the Myth & Magic figurines better to see the details but it would just take too long to edit and upload (I'm on dial-up). Anyway, here are some group ones.

Left to right:
Let the Future be Good, Sea Dragon, The Firstborn and The Dragon of Light. (the background dragon is a plaster water feature)

Snoozing Wizard, The Hatchlings, Wizard of the Lake, Follow Me Kids and The Artist

'Way Out' Dragon, Out of Tune and Magic Glade
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v11/CwmmawrJet/Bobby%20Boy/Miscellaneous/WayOutdragonOutoftunedragonMagicGlade.jpg

and finally
Unicorn of Light, The Nursery and Pegusus
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v11/CwmmawrJet/Bobby%20Boy/Miscellaneous/UnicornoflightNurseryPegaus.jpg

Each one, besides the unicorn and pegusus, has one or more dragons on them ... I love them. :D

My cover doesn't either. It's the UK cover. Does your cover just have the dragon on it with a white background? That's the cover I have.

UK'ers get the full art cover version... lucky dogs! :p :D

Les Edwards did the art covers for Skies of Pern, Dragon's Kin, Dragonsblood, and the new cover for Dragonsong.

You can view them and his other work here:
http://www.lesedwards.com/fantasy_gallery.htm

My favorite Pern cover artist is Michael Whelan.

http://www.michaelwhelan.com/index.asp?vsPage=gallerycollection

His covers include: Dragonsdawn, Moreta, Dragonflight, and All The Weyrs of Pern.

I have a poster of the 'All the Weyrs of Pern' cover. It's by far my favorite with 'Moreta' pulling in a close second.

Pern was what got me hooked on dragons. I'll try to get a nice picture of my collection tonight. :)

I love Michael Whelan!! I have these two prints hanging in my living room. They're the only dragons I have. I got these framed from his website.

Photobucket appears to be down, so I'll have to attach them. *sigh*

This first one is the cover to the book Skybowl by Melanie Rawn.

As promised, here is my dragon collection.

Most of it is on my 'dragon shelf', but a few pieces rest here and there about my apartment. Some stuff is in storage.

Here is the shelf:

The blue dragon was a High School graduation gift. The blue dragon represents me and the broken chain around his leg represents high school. The green dragon candle my mom found while in Tennessee.

Thanks Ash. :)

I got the poster at a local convention, YEARS ago.

They do sell the poster at Michael Whelan's site.

Go here:
https://www.michaelwhelan.com/index.asp?vsPage=store

Then click on Prints
Then click on << OPEN EDITION PRINTS AND POSTERS

It's $25. If I recall correctly, that's what I paid at the convention.

It's a good size poster and beautiful! I really need to get it framed. :o

PJ, I don't think I could ever part with my dragons. :D But if I have too, I'll keep you in mind. :)

Ooh...I met Anne McCaffrey and went to her house in January, when I was in Ireland. She actually came to the DART station, picked me and another girl up and drove us to her house! She is really nice. Her house (Dragonhold Underhill) is incredible and she has dragon art everywhere, as you can imagine.

The girl I went with is a big fan and set up the meeting (we were part of a larger university group traveling in Ireland) and we snuck away and went to meet Anne. We had a really nice visit and met her cats and dog (her dog slept in my lap the whole way back to the DART station) and her horses.

It was great meeting her, and definitely one of the most memorable parts of my trip. Here's a picture of us. I had been in the rain earlier so please excuse the hair!

boscibo, that is SOOOO awesome! I was able to meet her and her son, Todd, when they came to Atlanta for Dragon*Con. Not at the personal level that you did of course. Again, I'm so envious. :)

LOL, my dream is to meet or talk to her! Even if it's only for a moment!

Kimmy - My mom is moving to Georgia this summer so she said that if I want to I can fly down and stay with her during Dragon*Con and we can go to it! I'm so exited!!!!!
