I have working on making a craft rug out of scrap material (old t-shirts and such) in an effort to quit smoking. Trying to keep my hands busy! Well it seems that Chuck likes it! This is one of the rare moments that is he not trying to lay entirely on the fluffy finished part!

Here he is complaining because I took his pic! Meowmie, stop it with the flashy thing. I am trying to sleep!

What a cool rug! Keep up the good work -- of making the rug and no smoking!

Of course you also have the best helper right there with you.

Awww, he's such a cute little helper. ;)

That's a neat rug. Is it hard to make?

No, I am just cutting the fabric in skinny strips and attaching it with a latch hook tool. I really like how the cotton t-shirts feel when they are done. Really soft and no lint.

I agree Gary! Might as well recycle if you can. I have a feeling I have lost custody of my project before it is even done! LOL

Aren't they great helpers!!!

Brodie likes to help me with crafty projects too.

That is a neat rug! Will we get to see the finished product?

:)

BTW, good luck with your effort to stop smoking! It's the best thing you could do for yourself!!!

It is already kitty approved and I bet he thinks you are maiking it for him.

At first, I was so busy looking at the rug, it is AWESOME but so is the kitty that loves it..

What a super idea! We have tons of old t-shirts from the kids! Where did you find that special fabric? At a "hobby-store"??

I got the rug backing at Michaels craft store. It already had the squares on it already so I have been just going by that.

Thanks for the compliments! I like how it is turning out and I think Chuck does too! LOL

Great idea, will have to try that. Usually I give all the old t-shirts to the husband to use as grease rags instead of throwing them out, now I can make good use of them. Thanks for sharing the idea.
