Last night I went to pick up my sister and there was this labby cross running around and well it was -16C (approx 3F I think) and I didn't want to just leave her, so I risked the wrath of the parents and brought her home. Kept her in Clipse's crate.

Did some sleuthing and figured out who I had to call (we don't really have an animal control here and I didn't want to take her into the city). Called who I had to call and left a message. He didn't get back to me until 1:30. I gave him the dog's tattoo number. He phoned the spca got the owner's id info. Called me and gave me the owners number. I called her and she came and got her dog. Was appaled the dog was in our house (she's an outdoor dog don't you know). The dog has a heated garage and 18 acres to run on. Don't know why she has to go run off.
(The owners words)

Anyways, Harley was a real sweetie. Here are some pics.

No. :(

By the time the owner came and got her it was like 2:00. I wouldn't have gotten to the show until like 2:45 and by that time it would have been mostly over.

She looks so happy and well-behaved, like she belongs inside with a family. I certainly wouldn't want to give her back to some lady who leaves her out alone all day.

Oh what a beauty! I can't believe the owner cared that she was in the house, she just should have been happy you had her dog...people:rolleyes:

She is adorable! I'm so glad you were there for her. Having just lost Tori yesterday I know how much it meant to me to have that woman hold onto her for me. I don't know if Harley's owner thanked you enough, but I really want to. Thank you so much for being a loving caring doggie person. If you would have found my Tori for me I would have felt truly blessed. Thanks for caring for all the doggies.

Robin :)

aww Harley is a doll! She does look like she's a perfect "indoor dog"... I hope you informed her owner that dogs belong inside with their family :(. Atleast she has a warm garage, though.

Harley is beautiful but I would like the owner to go live in a garage for a few months and see how she likes it! ruff ruff!!!

He looks like he was made comfortable right away in the house and it was great that he had the tattoo so you could find his owner.
Is that a requirement in canada? (i ask knowing i will sound stupid, but wonderng anyway....) It seems to have made things easier for you!;)

It is not a requirement, but many breeders do it instead of microchipping. HArley is really cute!

What a beautiful Labbie girl! Bless you for doing all you could to reunite pup and family. I too, however, was disheartened to hear she's not allowed in the house:( Labs especially, are people dogs and crave to be with their humans:( So glad you're home, Harley!:)
