Hey I was just wondering if anybody here plays an instrument. I play the flute and really like it. Do you play an instrument? If so what do you play?

I played the clarinet in the junior high band .... was actually 1st chair! But I wouldn't even know how to begin to play it now! I also took about 5 years of piano when I was growing up ... would love to re-learn that some day ... but piano's are expensive, and take up quite a bit of room in your house! Well, it would in my house anyway! I keep seeing these great keyboards and dreaming / hinting to hubby ... but he hasn't caught on just yet!;)

No, I'm afraid I don't play an instrument, but I'm a tenor in my church choir.

I learned how to play the piano in grade 8. I'm in grade 12 now and have been playing ever since. I'd love to take formal lessons though.

I'm learning the guitar now and I'm hoping to take drumming lessons around the summer.

Many many moons ago I played violin. I wouldn't know what to do with one now! I remember being terrified when I was chosen to do a solo in front of the entire school, parents included! I made it through it without passing out (I think lol)!

I have played clarinet, alto, tenor and baritone saxophone, the saxes were just when I was in school, I never owned one. My embouchure on clarinet is gone completely, as I lent it to my niece many years ago, and haven't seen it since. I play piano but badly, as I never practiced enough. I can play the recorder, and am currently in a handbell choir.

I can play the clarient, but I haven't played for 5 years.

I do sing, if you want to count that as an instrument. We have Sessions coming up and I have three solos that I have to sing in front of over 5000 people.

I used to play Cello (was first chair, also :D)

I've been playing piano since....I was six? I play competitive classical so I'm constantly entering contests and whatnots (heck, I'm auditioning tomorrow). My teacher is one of those old-fashioned, everything-must-be-perfect, practice-three-times-perfect-in-a-row-backwards, metronome, play-with-CD kind of person...It gets to the point of overkill, but it's trained me to become much better than my friends who have played for the equal amount of time. Which reminds me...I have to practice:p

I play flute, piccolo and piano. When I was in middle and high school, I took private lessons for flute and was actually pretty good. I was always auditioning for honor bands (and getting in) and was always first chair. I really miss it. I was going to major in music of some sort in college but during my senior year, my band director made me angry and so out of spite, I dropped music all together. Looking back, I wish I hadn't been so immature. But anyway... yes, I do play instruments.

I play flute rather well. I also used to play piano and followed lessons during 3 years (I was 10 then). But since I didn't get near a piano for over 30 years, I forgot how to read music for my left hand...:( :( .

I played flute in junior high and was fourth clair!! (there were 5 of us):D I still have it though. I really wanted clarinet because I thought it was so cool how they put the little wood strips in their mouth to soften them and then licked them now and then. :p

What are those little wood strips called??

I play:

-piano (took lessons starting at age 8, only stayed for a few years, but I still play to this day)

-guitar (a little bit of everything, i'll play popular stuff and lately i'm learning classical and flamenco on acoustic)

-Viola (well I only played it for 5th and 6th grade, but I thought I'd add it to the list:p)

-Violin (switched to it after viola, I don't really play anymore though)

-Mandolin (it's the same strings as the violin basically so one day I just started playing my dad's mandolin and was like, hey, this is the same! :p)

Guitar: I have two electric guitars and I plan on getting an acoustic and/or bass guitar. The guitar is my favorite instrument! :)

Piano: I started playing when I was 5... My mom used to teach me and then I took lessons with a teacher who was somewhat like Giselle's piano teacher.. But I didn't want to be a 'professional' piano player and that was too much for me. My mom had always forced me to play against my will so I started to hate it. I can still play a few things and read notes, but I only play when I feel like it. I've made up a few songs too. :p
