Hi, I called Carla last night and her husband Mike answered and said carla was in the hospital and had to have surgery done this past weekend. She went in as kinda a emergency for a blockage. I am sure she would appreciate your prayers for a speedy recovery.

Carla left a message on my cell phone earlier while I was at work, and I've been trying to reach the number she left this morning...to no avail. It was busy for a while, but the few times I did get through it rang and was not answered. I left a message on their home phone as well, but Mike may be either still at work, or at the hospital. Carla misses PT, and we miss her. :( I'll try reaching them via cell phones next. Apparently this is a complication that cropped up after her back was operated on in Oct. :( I'm sending prayers Carla's way as well. ;)

I finally got through to her last night, and things aren't looking too good yet. :( She has a lot of scar tissue around her intestines, and they had to pull them out, and untwist them. Things still aren't moving through as they should, and she may have to undergo yet another surgery if things don't improve. Wheover got the 'bright idea' to operate on a persons back by going through the abdomen is someone I wouldn't let near me! :eek: Almost smells like a malpractice suit to me. Poor Carla is in agony again, and wants to get home to her kitties. :(

I mailed her a card today. Maybe we could start do a "card shower" for her like we did for Kirsten. QSA, do you think Carla would mind? I just don't feel right giving out her address without permission. Could we okay it with Mike maybe?

What a wonderful idea!!! Carla would be so touched, and Mike would be as well. P.M me (or Jazzcat) for Carla's address anyone who wants to send cards. :) I know that would be such a boost for her morale right now. :)

Carla is such a wonderful person and doesn't deserve all this pain and trouble. Please know Carla that you have lots and lots of prayers coming your way.
I would also like to include a special prayer for Mike. It has to be very hard on him trying to work, care for all the kitties, and worry about Carla. Hang in there Mike prayers on the way for you too!
