voting

on november 2, 2004 i saw at least 200 hundred of my fellow americian citizens standing in line to vote. i've seen photos of south africans standing in line to vote in the 1990s' . today i saw pictures of women in chador in iraq waiting to vote. just that the act of standing in line to vote, despite any and all risks, in my country and theirs gives me pause and chills. democracy, what a concept!

Heard on the news today that a plane flying overhead spotted droves of people walking 13 MILES just to vote . . . can you imagine anyone in the US walking that far to vote?
