Does anyone know how to compress a video so I can post it here?

Thanks!

For some projects I use Microsoft's free encoder (http://www.microsoft.com/windows/windowsmedia/9series/encoder/default.aspx). It depends upon which platform you use and which format the video is already in. A lot of programs that handle video will compress or re-compress video.

.mov is an Apple computer format, QuickTime, so Microsoft does not support it. I know the full version of Apple's QuickTime player will re-compress the video. You can download a free player (http://www.apple.com/quicktime/products/qt/) from Apple. However, the best features require a code to be typed into the player to unlock all its features.

You should check the software that came with your camera to see if it can re-compress.

There may also be free programs to re-compress QuickTime. Are you using a Mac or a PC?

I'm not sure if this is what you meant though, but you can upload your video onto http://www.yousendit.com

Send the file to your own e-mail address and you'll receive this link that you can post on here. Everyone just has to click
on the link to download the video. They only have 7 days to download it though because YouSendIt has to delete it off of their site to make more room for others to use.

My friend just told me about this site earlier today so I tried it out and it works! Good luck!:)

Read the entire thread. There is a link there to convert .mov to .avi (I believe) and then you can use Windows Movie Maker.
