Hello everyone. For those who know me you will know that my rabbit gave birth to six babies. Just to let you know that they are now seven weeks old and getting extremely big. The hutches that I have are getting crowded and I'm feeling a little sad even though it is christmas time. The worries I face are over crowding, noone seems to want one ( I have advertise and spread the word verbally). I don,t even know the boys from the girls. I have spent so much money on them over the last seven weeks, visits to vets, more food and more hay etc. As you all know we did not plan for Bunny to get pregnant. I have enjoyed having them, they have been fun but i suppose it's now that things start to get serious for me. I think that i will miss them very much when they go.

My question is, can anyone tell me the how to tell what sex they are!

Much love Heatherx

Hi Heather!

We had Faith "sexed" at her first vet visit, what Spencer-the-Lion said is exactly what they do. Poor things! :o

I do know that when the girls get a bit older, they have a "pouch" thing that forms under their chins. (It's a hormonal thing, when they have babies, they pull the hair from their to nest)

Let us know how many of each you have. How cute!!

Remember to occasionally check & (if needed)clean the slits with warm water! Sometimes they get yucky stuff built up inside and it can cause an infection!

Hey Chuck...the link you gave me in the "Itz Sophie Bunny" post, pulled up something different for me than what this link did...

Thanks everyone for your advice. I hope I have managed to sort things out a little. I called the RSPCA (royal society for the protection of cruelty to animals) and they said that if I bring the rabbits to them on Thursday, someone there will be able to help me at no charge. I do a lot of fund raising for them, so I was happy with the no charge part. I will let you know what the outcome is. And further more I am a member of a postal club called the RREC (rabbits and rodents enthusiasts club) and the editor of the magazine will be running a story for me to see if any good homes can be found for them, even one or two would be great. The web site address for the rrec is:

www.rrec.co.uk (http://www.rrec.co.uk)

It's a good site!

 Sill feeling like this.

Anyone who clicks on will get on to the rolls royces club.

The proper address is

www.therrec.co.uk (http://www.therrec.co.uk)

Actually, I think you mistyped - because that www.rrec.co.uk (http://www.rrec.co.uk) is a Rolls Royce Enthusiasts Club! What's the one you meant?

The vet was so good and so quick at telling - and showing - me that Miss Hoppy was a girl, that I'm glad you're taking yours to get them "checked professionally." Glad you're doing it soon, bunnies can be fertile as young as 4.5 months of age, when we still think they're "babies" themselves!

Thanks Karen, but I did actually correct the mistype, if you read on down after that address you will find that it was re-written.

Look at how close the time on our two posts is - I bet we were typing our messages at the same time! :) Thanks for the correction!
