Thought you all might take heart with some wise words of a 9 year old girl. I posted it in a cat discussion, but thought you might not see it there. My daughter had to write a paper this week on "The Greatest Gift".....Bear with me and here it is:

The greatest gift of all would be for hunger and starvation to end. If I could give the greatest gift of all, no child, no adult, and no animal in the world would ever be hungry or face starvation ever again.

This gift would make their lives easier and happier. All children around the world would be full of energy. They could run and jump and would be better students. Best of all, they would have a good life to look forward to. There wouldn’t be any stray pets because they would all be happy and well fed in their homes. And people’s parents and grandparents would be happier and healthier and more loving because some of their worries would be over. By giving this gift, people would face a whole new life with joy and excitement.

It isn't all pointed at pets, but isn't it wonderful that she is listening to me and learning? She wrote it over dinner earlier this week. Thanks for listening.

Logan,

I just read what your daughter wrote. She sounds like an angel. It was so very wise of her to write such a thing http://PetoftheDay.com/talk/smile.gif *snif* She's wise and sweet. You must be very proud of her http://PetoftheDay.com/talk/smile.gif

Children are so wonderful, I hope to be a mother myself some day. Hopefully when we get the house we have been saving for http://PetoftheDay.com/talk/smile.gif Motherhood is calling me...

I will tell you, AdoreMyDogs, that a child is the most wonderful contribution you can make! I'm single now and have been for quite some time, but I have the loveliest of children and am so fortunate. Don't wait too long. I had mine when I was 28 and wanted one for a long time before that. Can't wait to hear about your own babies in addition to the furry ones!
