Has anyone ever seen this fountain? I think it is a good idea, but I dont know, I dont want my cats splashing it all around, playing with it, and getting it everywhere. Anyone have one? They are pretty inexpensive, and cool to look at. Anyone have one?

Everyone I know who has one really likes it. We've tried it twice -- once when Kuhio was an only child -- and again with Halo, Cammie and Pepper. They are all scared to death of it and run out of the kitchen the minute they hear the motor humming. We've tried leaving it plugged in for days and they never got used to it. Now, these are the same cats who run TOWARDS the trash compactor and garage door because they aren't scared of those loud noises. But a quiet, little motor hum.......

The gang of three loves the one we. They dont splash around (play). The motor is not quiet but it's not offensive either and after a while I forget it's on.

I've had one for about a year and I love it. It keeps the water fresh and the kitties seem to drink out of it more than they did when I just had regular water dishes.

Actually I just went to look at it and I have a different kind of fountain, it's the Fresh Flow. It's a little different as the water runs down a ramp instead of it being "faucet like". I think it's quiter than the drinkwell.

That seems to be the general opinion.... the water is fresher and cooler, therefore the kitties drink more which is GREAT for their health! ;)

I just bought the Petmate Fresh-Flow fountain and my babies LOVE it :)

Brynja and Bownie used to always splash in the water bowls til they were pretty much empty, but funnily enough they don't do it with the fountain.

The fountain is very quiet. You don't hear the water running (because of the slope) and the motor is just a very low buzzing sound - hardly noticeable.

And yes, like Uabassoon said: "It keeps the water fresh and the kitties seem to drink out of it more than they did when I just had regular water dishes."

I just bought a fresh flow the other day. My dogs drink from it, but I don't know if the cats have yet. They should like it though, they both love drinking running water from the faucet.

Ours comes down a ramp. PetMate is brand of our water foundation. I find the plastic film buildup where water comes down annoying since it wont clean up. I use bottled water in our foundation so it's not like using City water that is treated.

I have the Petmate Fresh Flow too. I just got it for my gang for Christmas and so far everyone except Ripley loves it. He still insist on water in the bathroom sink - snob.

The kittens and Scout are so cute, they drink from the top right where the water comes out.

So far no one really plays in it or splashes it around but I probably just jinxed that.

Wow, sound like the fresh flow is a better deal. I want one now. I guess that is what I am going to ask for for Valentines day;) I just was worried water would get everywhere. My kitties seem to like drinking out of the faucets *excep the bathroom tub* so I guess they would love it as much as everyone elses. Thank you for the advice/info. Katie :D

I found the Fresh Flow deluxe - the large one - at Ross for $19.99. It sells around $37-$40 at most pet stores. It was a great deal, if you have a Ross.

We dont have a Ross around here, but I am going to check out their website. Maybe they can ship to me? The drinkwell one is 34.99 on the website I went to. 19.99 is a STEAL! Thank you for the info:D

PS- For anyone who wants the address it is; www.rossstores.com.
They do not deliver products, nor can you buy online. But I did find out that they are also owned/operated by a company named Marshalls, which we do have here:D

I bought the critters a Fresh Flow Fountain for Christmas and they love it. Buddy, our dog drinks from the trough and Julie drinks the water as it comes down the little ramp. It was well worth the money to me. :D

I got my FreshFlow off eBay. I think I paid like $15 or $20 for it plus shipping, only slightly used. It's totally silent (except when it runs low on water, then it kind of gurgles to tell you), fairly easy to clean out, the filters aren't expensive at all (I get them at PetSmart) and the kitties love it. They drink from it all the time. Tito's really funny about it, he'll practically straddle the thing and then drink right from the top of the ramp. :D

I have the fresh flow and the E's like it. I just moved it this week. Eddie is a very sloppy eater and his kibbles get n the water....making it dirty faster. So I move the water further from the food. There are still kibbles ALL over...but not in the water!

What a slob!

My cats used to have a Petmate Fresh-Flow fountain too. They both LOVED it, and Maya even drank from the "waterfall"!!
It didn't last very long :( . Few months later, the motor started to make strange noises, so I had to get rid of it :( :(

I have had a FreshFlow for over a year and my guys love it. Unfortunately mine like to play in the water, so I have put a mat under it so there are no marks from the water and it also helps dampen the motor sound. The mats are available at Walmart for about $5 so it was definitely worth it for me.

Ah! PetMate Fresh Flow - I don't know how we would do without it now that we have it!! I bought mine either off eBay or Amazon and it was used. This guy bought it and his kitty didn't like it so he packed it up. It appeared to be brand new, though. It is the "Deluxe" which I think just means it holds more water. The flow is adjustable and that might be a deluxe thing - not sure.

At first everyone *did* play in it but only a short time. Dylan likes to drink from his paws:rolleyes: so sometimes there is a mess but no more than the water bowls.

With the five kittties, I have to really clean it out well everyweek and I use an old toothbrush at the grungy areas - like at the top of the ramp where the water comes out, then buff it all off with a dry towel & refill.

The motor is simalar to what is on a very small aquarium - for sound comparison. I don't even notice it except - like someone said - the water kinda gurgles if the level gets low.

Mine seem to drink TONS of water but I also think alot does into the air because I fill it up a nearly everyday and I KNOW they never drank nearly that much water before..or maybe it is just the fact that it is cold and clear and fresh?:D

Do any of you have pictures of it? Fresh Flow sounds like the best - from what you all say. :)

Tenna, where did you get yours, and how much does it cost?

I'm sure Fister would love one!

My cats Snowball and Rocky use a Petmate Deluxe Fresh Flow Fountain and they love it. It seems to encourage them to drink more which is important. The company has a website at www.petmate.com and the fountain is at http://www.petmate.com/Catalog.plx?Page=PR&RID=3

Also, parts are available, such as the pump, in case it needs replacing.

I also wanted to add that customer service was wonderful!! When I first bought my *used* fountain - the seller forgot to pack the piece of wire that goes to the electric plug and adaptor. I called the company, explained it was used....they sent me a whole new pump AND adaptor!!

The seller sent me the missing part, so I now how a whole extra ectric pum system - if this one conks out:p

I have a question about that fountain: I know my cats ALWAYS get fur in their regular water bowls...does this fresh flow filter all those out?

in fact, I JUST ordered it from PETsMart.com...19.99 plus tax = 21.24, free shipping! of course I could have just gone to the store, but it's a long drive from me! I'll give a "testimonial" when it comes!
