I was thinking, after reading Val's thread, do you know anyone or do you yourself have a different name? Or, maybe you have a normal name, spelled in a unique way..?

If so, share with us! I know a lot of people who have unique names, and I was interested in hearing ( reading ) some more...

Everyone says my cousins have weird names. I guess the most unique of my cousins' names would be Dax, Shelsea, Tye, D'nae (Dih-nay), Carson, and Cailin. My name is Jordan -- you don't find too many girls my age named Jordan. Most of them are quite young as it's only recently become popular. My brother's name is Dawson. Jynnelle's name is spelled quite different. Whenever I see someone with the same name, it's always Janelle or Jynelle.

That's about it...

I don't think my name is unique (Audrey) but you don't see it a lot. It's a lot more popular now it seems though.

My family's names are all Latvian..
My name, Diana, is pronounced Dee-aw-na, NOT like die-anna...
My sister's name is Lilija (pronounced like Lilia).
My mom's name is Dace (dats-eh.)
My dad's name is Guntis (goont-ees).
My brother's name is Rolands.

My cousin and grandmother have the same name: Skaidrite (sky- dree-teh).
Everyone just calls my cousin Skai though... (sky)

I could keep going with Latvian names but I think I'll stop there... :p

Edit:
I'll just list some of my other cousins and relatives:
Ivars (ee-vars)
Aldis
Andris
Arnis
Liana (lee-aw-na)
Vilis
Gio
Vigeo
Marite (maw-ree-teh)
Aija (eye-ya)
Inese (ee-neh-seh)

I know I'm forgetting a few... :X

My name is Kari, and although the name isn't unique the spelling isn't as common as Carrie or Kerry. (except around here I am one of 3 (I think) people and 1 rabbit named Kari with that spelling.) Outside of PT I can only think of 1 person I've met who spells it that way.

Mirra (Mirr-a)- my cousins baby girl
Hawley- a girl I met through work
Shrade- my vets grandson
Alika- (al-ick-a)- my vets daughter
Cade- my friends son ( love that name)
Tiara- (Tea-rr-a) a girl I went to school with

I know there are more, but I can't think of any right now.

I recently found out that my Aunt Pauline's real name is Appolonia, and my aunt Emily is really Josephinia. The other Polish names i can't even spell but they were all Americanized when the kids started school.
My dad's name was Jack. But when he applied for a passport, he also got a copy of his birth certificate and it said "Jake". His Russian father had a thick accent so when the census bureau asked for dad's name, he said "Jeck" or something similar, so it was put down as Jake. He was our Jumpin Jack Flash, regardless!!! Rock On Dad!

I can certainly sympathise with you. My name is Shanna, and I get the same thing. The thing that always drove me crazy about it ... and I'm sure you feel the same way ... is that our names are not spelled in a strange way, the are spelled phoenetically exactly as they are pronounced. And people stillllll can't manage it. I am regularly called Shawna, Sheena, Shayna, Shannon, Shawnnon, etc.

I had a great aunt named Cherokee, and a great-great aunt named Experience. (That begs some questions, eh? ;) ) My great-grandfather's name was Green Washington Newton. I have NO clue why. My aunt's names are Lenabelle and Dixie.

My mom's first name is Dorcas! Needless to say, she goes by June. And she said she was going to name me Dorcas July. Can you imagine the crap I'd had to have taken growing up?
