Gracie got in trouble.

I have been working with her every day. She is learning that she needs to listen to me when I tell her something. Every now and then she will throw a fit, barking (a very high pitched one at that), growling, and snapping. So today I took her toys away. She wanted me to play and I wasn't ready so she threw a fit. So I put her toys up and she threw a lot bigger of a fit. So I made her sit and stay and stop throwing a fit before I gave one of her toys back. I have tried treats as a training method and postive reinforcement, neither of those have worked. I have found that the toy thing works so far. I want her to be happy to get a toy back. Which means I want her to know she was being good so she deserves her toy. Should I keep doing this or is this something that shouldn't be done?
