I don't know a lot of the Dog General and Pet General people so I thought I would start a thread for everyone to get to know each other. It has been a while since one of these threads was done so without further ado...

Hi! My name is Sarah and I am owned by three kitties and a red eared slider that you can see in my siggy. I am 25 years old, been married for a year and a half to my high school sweetheart, and will hopefully be graduating this August with my Masters degree. I am a military brat and have lived in eight different states and in Germany for three years.

There is nothing I love more than reading, hanging out, being with my pets, and sleeping. I have two older brothers, the second one is mentally handicapped and has taught me a lot about the differences between others. I feel very fortunate to have him in my life and my oldest brother and I are also best friends. Family is very important to me.

My pets:

Kahn is a red-eared slider who turned four in October. I have had him since he was 5 days old and bought him at a pet store in Tucson, AZ. He is very sweet and always appears hungry--like I'm starving him or something. :rolleyes: He likes to bask in his light, swim around when he sees me or my husband, and to eat/chase little fish.

Whisper (my only boy) and Shadow are litter mates. They are kitties from my sister-in-law's cat and I have had them since they were a year old. They despise each other worth a passion :( but are very sweet to us and their sister Callie. They are six years old as of June and I feel fortunate to have them in my life. Shadow is the black one, Whisper the gray one.

Callie is my heart. My husband found her four years ago (she should be five in February??) when someone threw her out of their car. She is a little more independent than her siblings but recently has been following me around the house and hates to have me out of her sight--we were on vacation to CA for two weeks. She's my favorite...and we have quite a special bond.

Hi,
my name is Krista and I am 19 years old and a senior in highschool and I volunteer at my local animal shelter & I LOVE it :D and I LOVE to horse-back ride, swim, spend time with my pets and write letters.

Buster is an 11 month coonhound mix and he is such a joy to have around he takes scrunchies out of my mom's hair lmao, loves food, loves to play in the snow.

Rocky is a 8 year old black lab mix and he got hit by a car in 2003(it was a hit and run) and had to spend 7 days in the emergency vets we thought we were going to lose our baby and he pulled through he just gets REALLY cold in the winter due to his injuries but we put a sweater on him and he's okay:)

Ginger is a 5 year old rat terrier/chihuahua mix and my mom inherited her from my grandmother in 2003 when she passed away. Ginger is a sweetheart and such a joy like the rest of the furbabies.

Dodger is my guinea pig and he is approx. 2.5-3 years old he was abused in his former home :( & he was really nervous when he came to us but he is getting better day by day. He couldn't ask for a better home :)

anyways, my name is Amber, I'm 14 (15 in March) I have 2 dogs, 1 mouse, and we have fish. I love writing, listening to music, trying new styles to my hair, hanging out with my friends, and cuddling with my pups.

Elvis is my dog. He is a 11 month old black/silver miniature schnauzer, who I love with all my heart. He is a clown, and is very clumsy. Just like me, hehe He also can be a hand full at times..

Hi, my name is Julie and I live in Southern California. I'm 15 years old and a Sophmore in High School. I live with my dad, mom and sister along with my many pets, which are two dogs, two cats, two cockatiels, a hamster and six desert tortoises. In my spare time I love taking pictures, training my dogs, chatting online, writing and hanging out with friends. If you haven't already guessed, my absolute greatest passion is the Golden Retriever breed, and dogs in general. I'm highly obsessed and love learning more and more about them. I will never, ever be without a Golden. They are the greatest dogs in my (not so) biased opinion. ;) I hope to become a Veterinarian when I'm older, and hopefully open up my own Golden Retriever rescue.

This is Molly, my three year old Sable and White Rough Collie. We "rescued" her from a BYB/puppymill when she was five months old. She's a great dog, and I love her very much.

Hi I'm Jan, and would be here for the next year listing all the critters here lol! I've been married for 15 years now, and live in Mass. I've been doing a lot of rescuing and fostering, so there's never a shortage of cats/kittens etc. here. My weakness is special needs cats and kittens which I tend to keep for myself! I have 3 dogs, a large rescued iguana who was POTD in July(2nd), 3 turtles (two red eared sliders, and a common musk turtle, all rescues), and wanted to point out to you that your turtle Kahn is a girl! The way to tell is by those long front nails, which are used for burying her eggs with. ;) My three tutles always do the starving act as well. :rolleyes: My first rescue of this year is a young male parakeet who must have just been thrown out, as there's no way he'd have survived the bitter cold setting in around here. He has a girlfriend (who I rescued last year) and the two are very content together! :D :D

I'm Abby. I am 14 years old and I love to scrapbook, play softball in the summer, go swimming in the summer, hang out with my rabbit, hang out with my friends, etc.

I'm owned by a rabbit who is very very spoiled. His name is Speedy and gets lots of treats and yummies. He loves me very much and I love him too. We have lots of fun together.

Family is important to me too. I have an older brother and him and I are very close. Sure there are times that I want to kill him, but I'd kill for him any day. :D

It's nice to meet all of you and your wonderful pet families. I've been on here for a while now (four years exactly (originally as Sia1 but then changed my screenname when I got married) but never had the nerve to actually post until recently). I've always enjoyed reading about other people's pets but never felt as if I had anything to add to threads...I guess lurking got rather boring and decided that I wanted to make my own friends on here.

I would love to chat with any of you so feel free to PM me. Growing up, my main pet was a male black cocker spaniel named Sultan (how I miss him..he was the perfect companion!) who passed away at 13 when I was 18 years old. A few months later, my mom got a female black cocker spaniel named Czarina but I went off to college a few months later so she never really was MY pet. My father enjoyed having fish and birds so we always had at least a tank or a bird cage full one time or another.

I never liked cats until my brother gave me Whisper and Shadow. I couldn't imagine now how I lived without them and will probably always have a few cats in the house. Right now, I would love to get a dog but we don't have a back yard and my house is too small for another pet. I will be moving to North Carolina in the fall to start my PhD and am hoping to get a house with a yard...then doggie time. : ) I've always wanted a black lab mix and/or a blond cocker spaniel..have names picked out and everything.

A cockatiel named Keeley, she was neglected by her first owner, and was never taken out of her cage nor was her cage ever cleaned. She still isn't tame but we have her wings clipped so we bring her out, she doesn't really like anyone except Poppy.

An orange longhair tabby kitty named Princess Lily Fluff(a.k.a. Lily) My parents found her in March last year when she had been hit by a car, she was a stray and was very scared of us, but she couldn't really walk because her pelvis was broken, she's a sweetheart now and we really love her!

A dilute calico kitty named Jenny a.ka. The Sandal Stalker! Jenny we fostered for the humane society along with a litter of her kittens(the reason she was given up was because she wouldn't stop having kittens:rolleyes: , shame on her for not being spayed!) Well, when the kittens were old enough we sent them all to The Humane Society, well 3 months later they called us up and told us the Jenny was going to get pts because she didn't find a home, my mom went down there and got her.

A grey tabby kitty named Colin, he is KING! Atleast that's what Colin thinks. Always putting the dogs and cats into their place and trying his best not to let my dad in the bed at night(very funny to watch, Colin has hated my dad for all the 12 years he's lived here! He LOVES my mom though)

A brown tabby kitty named Max a.k.a. Mr. Green Eyes(he came in August when he was just a stray we fed. Well during a very bad rainstorm we came home and he was begging us to let him in, so we set up a place in the bathroom(he hated being inside but didn't want to be outside either, it was all to new to him!) But he's great now and a total sweetheart a little shy around the other cats though and hates the dogs!

A mini dashound named Marty, he was a gift(my mom wasn't to happy, but she didn't want to put him in the pound) to my little sister from her dad when we went to visit him on his farm in Texas. He's very hyper and loves to play! He's about 8 months old.

A mini poodle named Alex, It's kind of funny about him because my mom loves poodles and we haven't had one in years! But a couple of weeks before my mom was talking to my aunt about how the next poodle that came her way she'd keep. Well, needless to say a backyard breeder talked to my mom and gave her 4 poodles, they were all a mess of matts and such. All the poodles were very friendly except Alex(he hates men) and Alex was never out of his cage before we got him. Alex still hates men and is also around 8 months old. The other poodles found homes with some nice ladies.

Tiny is my moms cat. When my mom was in her 30s she found a cat that she say someone discard from there car. So they stoped the car and got her. Well she was going to have kittens and Rescu dies but Tiny is one of her babies! Tiny is now 13 and alive and well as ever! (and weird she likes to sit in the oddest places like the one in the picture)

I wrote a paragraph for each animal then when I went to submit it it went all crazy and I lost all the stuff I wrote wich took about 30 min. I am so mad so I had to rewrite all of it! Lol oh well to late!

Hi,I am Mei from China,I am 24 years old,just finish the undergraduate course.If I will pass the exam 12days ago,I will have another course.The foreign language that we must study is English,and the exam must pass the English too.We just learn English in book before,never use it for intercourse.I want to learn and use it,it is the original intention of my coming.But now I affirm that love it here very much! This is Tutu,a shamefaced boy,Chinese rabbit.he is one year and 5 months old,and I have him 16months.He is very docile, love eat and sleep.

This is Tuotuo,a female rabbit,I don't know what kind she is.She is one year and 6 months old,and I have her 1 year.Her mother was sensitive to something and then she came with me.She is archness and nit-pick,always dig my clothes when I hold her in my arm,but never other person.

My name is Sara. Im 24 and have been married for 3 years. Me and my husband have no children except for Tinky and Jupiter our two cats.

I LOVE ANIMALS. ... i have grown up having lots of pets but now I am forced into only having two...;) I hope one day to have dogs and a lot of land to own some horses.

I love Pet Talk because it is hard to find people who understand how much I love animals and why I take so many pictures of my babies...:D

Here is Tinky... she is three years old. Eric rescued her from the pound and gave her to me for Christmas... she is the sweetest kitty ever and I love her with all my heart!!!

Here is Jupiter... he is my GOOFY GOOFY boy!! We took Jupiter in when my sister could no longer keep him.. He is the most kind hearted kitty I have ever met... he loooooooooooves to play and wil bite you if you are not giving him attention when he wants it
