I really wonder if this is some kind of "light therapy" for Luna! She's doing this all the time during the cold and dark time of the year. Sometimes she would even touch the bulb with her nose, and I can't believe she doesn't get burned!

Sometimes she's sitting like this for half an hour, and she really seems to enjoy this. Her face is really warm after this treatment, but obviously she likes it.

I think she is on to something. It has been raining here for a week. No sunshine and everything is so gloomy looking. It really is depressing. I turn on every light in the house to try to feel better. Maybe I shoud stick my face right under the light. I think I will skip the nose on the bulb part though!;) :D

How sweet!
Maybe she is pretending she is sunbathing on a warm beach! Sure sounds good to me right now!:D

OMG that is SOOOO funny!!! Moo does that alot with my desk lamp. During the day he'll follow the sunlight around the apartment.

For instance...

Luna, perhaps this is something Northern cats do in the winter, Fister is also under the lamp for hours every day. I'm amazed how close he can be! His fur is burning hot.

Gary, I'm sure they will love it! :)

Randi, you may be right, After all, our kitties' ancestors have lived in the desert, so they probably like it warm! :) My girls, especially Luna, are greedily following each spot of sunlight on the floor here!

Cats seem to be made of some kind of asbestos! We had a sweet old kitty when I was growing up. Our family cat had a litter and we ended up keeping the runt of the litter, a cute little white female who lived up until she was 21 - much more durable than her momma who died a few years after she was born. She used sleep on a floor gas furnace grille to be extra warm. She would get so hot I thought she would burst into flame but she did it for years and years with no ill effect. She was aptly named Frosty.

Another family Aby, Danté, "winters" in front of the fireplace. He frequently pushes on the screen (now wired shut!) with his nose to get closer to the fire.

My furbabies love my full spectrum light bulb (for treating S.A.D.) and often sit near it.

Luna, what a funny kitty !!!

Our pups are like that with a fire. The closer the better, except Nina, and she would rather be by the cool front door. Kelcee always find a sunny spot on the carpet if there is any.

Luna, that is a terrific idea to get some warmth from that lamp!! Maybe a good idea for me too, as I'm a bit at the downs too...!

Those pics of Luna and Dante are gorgeous!!
