I'm crossposting this from another group I belong to:

These are not Goldens, but it's a great group (Military Mascots) and good to check once in a while to see what dogs are in need

There are dogs in KS, SC, AL and IL and some cats whose owners are called away, can anyone help them with fostering. One poor soldier will drive his two labs anywhere to help them.

Ottawa, KS: Adoptive home needed: Elderly Labrador mix

Gretchen, a Lab mix, after being a faithful companion for 13 plus years is

without a home. Her owner has been called up to serve and has been sent

overseas. No one in the family could take care of Gretchen so she has found

herself homeless. She is a sweet dog but a little scared with your new

surroundings. Gretchen has been an inside dog, completely housebroken all

her life until now. Due to the overwhelming number of young puppies at the

shelter, there is no room inside for her so she is in an outside run.

Gretchen is crated trained, leashed trained. She is excellent with

children, gets along well with cats and other dogs. Gretchen does have a

few minor health problems that the animal shelter is going to have their

Veterinarian take a look at.
