Poor Ebby has to work so hard to get that itch.
You are quite the contortionist to get to that bandage.;)

Poor Ebby. :(

But I have to say, I love that first picture! I had to look at it awhile before I figured out which parts were what. ;) :D

I'm glad she hasn't taken the bandage off. Hopefully she's knows it's for her own good and that taking it off will only mean that dreaded cone will have to stay on even longer!

Ebbs is such a good cat but she is really turning my grey hair greyer over this. :) Good thing is that, as of typing this, her bandage is still on, though it does have some tooth marks and fraying.

However, as the vet warned me, and unlike before, what she has decided is that she is definately not going to eat her food if the crushed antibiotic pill is in it. Not even if it is freshly cooked breast of chicken. She ate it Wednesday, then I had to pill her (no fun) Thursday and yesterday. I thought I'd try it in the chicken today, but no go ... well, she has eaten a tiny tiny bit but also spat some out, the rest is still there.
The pill is so tiny too, yesterday I nearly lost it before I could get it down her throat ... and again, it is so small if she did spit it out I would never find it.

Oh, such fun! :D

Oh, poor girl!! Why does she have to wear that bandage? Did she have an accident?

Well, the latest is that she has taken of the bandage and been chewing at it again. :( Looks like surgery is on the cards.

Here is a picture of the unrepentant girl. You can just about see the bloody tail end in the bottom right hand corner.

Kirsten, it's a long story. As briefly as I can. She hurt her tail somehow then kept chewing at it. Vet's visit(s), antibiotics, cones -which she took off and can reach her tail anyway - finally a bandage. Looks like she is never going to let it heal and surgery will be the only answer.

Oh, Ebby, honey, I do wish you would keep your teeth away from your tail. :(

It might be worth a try to have it rebandaged and then put Bitter Apple or something similar on the bandage--something non-toxic that won't irritate her tail, but that will taste nasty when she tries to bite it.
