I just saw this dog, he's a Catahoula/Aussie mix, and he's at the Grass Valley shelter. I am in love with him, almost to the point of crying when I read his story. My dad said we could stop by and look at him on the way home... but I don't even know if he'll be around by then!? It just breaks my heart to hear his story, and it seems like he is perfect for us... he loves dogs, and even kids!! It says his time at the shelter was up 12/15! He is already neutered, and his adoption fee is only $10. I don't know why in the world anyone wouldn't adopt him, and I just wish I would've seen this weeks ago... :(. He was on BCRNC, and on there it said he was still alive on January 2nd. I'm going to call them when they open in about 15 minutes, to see if he's still there...

I was just talking to them :) they said he's still available! And will be on Saturday, unless some one adopts him! I *really* hope my Dad lets us go... we have never been without 2 or more dogs, and he loves dogs but my stepmom is kind of a witch and says she only wants 1. I'm hoping to GOD that she somehow falls in love with him! I atleast want to foster him. The lady there said he is the sweetest boy... ^__^

oh, and the lady said he is actually more like a Border Collie mix. even better ;)! thanks for the good luck!

Joey is an OWNER TURN IN Dog:
adoption date is 12-15-04 and can be put to sleep any time after the adoption date. This is what Joey's owner had to say. We had to turn Joey over to the animal shelter because we can't afford to keep a pet right now. Joey's 3 years old, neutered, up todate with routine shots, on heart guard, is Large/Medium in size has been an Inside/outside dog, is housetrained, enjoys rides in the car, walks on a leash, sits when asked, he's friendly, affectionate, loving, playful, VERY obedient and well mannered, an awsome dog, smart and alert, Joey got along with other dogs and children. We feel Joey may make some family very happy, he was an outsatnding family member and very loyal companion for us. Because Joey's already neutered, the adoption fee is only $10.00

:( we couldn't go see him yesterday because of the storm, the shelter was already closed by the time we got down to Grass Valley.. I'm trying to get my mom to take my tomorrow. If not, my oldest sister and her husband said they're interested in him and will go see him..

I really hope I can adopt him! If not, I *really* want to atleast foster him! Gonzo gets along very well with other boys, Caseysmom... he actually likes them better than girls! Boys usually like to wrestle more ;)

sorry, I forgot to check this thread. I called them yesterday, right before we were leaving, and the lady said that Joey had been adopted on Friday... I'm happy for him, and I hope he found a great home, but kind of bummed at the same time. He sounded like the perfect dog for us :(

I'll keep in touch with them, just in case Joey comes back or they have another dog like him. She told me they just got two purebred 3 y/o Australian Shepherds in and one purebred Border Collie.. I might just have to check them out :)

BCB, they look just like two of my Aussie/Border Collie mixes. The black and white looks like my Thunder and the blue merle like Thunders sister Collar[flower]. The BW takes after his mother (my RB CheekyBitch) and the BMerle like my DaddyDog Badger (a bit anyway). They are beautiful, smart to a fault :rolleyes: but a handfull if you don't have the energy. NOT for everyone. Luck of the draw perhaps. Everyone that's ever met Badger (JenLuckenback & her hubby Charlie, the mayor and her hubby Paul etc. at a PA PT meeting) will tell you that my Badger is the sweetest, most loving dog ever. Sorry about Joey, but as everyone knows.. doG works in mysterious ways

Di, those are the two aussies!! Lbaker, I think the boy is actually a red tri and the girl is red merle. thats exactly what the lady told me about them!.. yeah, they look gorgeous. definately, Lbaker! after having Gonzo and having an aussie and a border collie in my life, I know how much of a handful they can be, lol. I found another one of them together!! I wonder if they have to be adopted as a pair? they look like brother and sister..
