hi guys :)

I know I don't really post here that often, in fact i've only posted here once. :p But, I was seeing if anyone here has a ragdoll... we're *sort of* interested.. nothing to get excited about yet. ;) So, what are their personalities like, etc.? One of my friends has one and says it is very playful, but mostly bonds to one person... so, i would appreciate any info! :D
thanks,
Devon

Here's a site that can probably give you most of the information you're looking for: http://www.dlc.fi/~ashi/ragdolls/info.htm

Ragdolls act similar to Himmies. They are VERY sweet and VERY laid back.

They are vey laid back, and its a good idea, not to adopt one, ifthere are agressive people around,as a Rag Doll, has no defensive instincts, and wont fight back,at all, even if he,is in danger!

Ragdolls are beautiful....but what about a kitty from a shelter? Wouldn't you feel good knowing you gave a homeless kitty the best home he/she could ever want?

I was thinking along the same lines. If you are thinking about possibly getting one, you can keep your eye out for one on petfinder or at a local shelter. The rescue I work with gets full bred cats in all the time. Just last month we got an Osicat that was not even 2 years old and surrendered by the owner. We get our fair share of Main Coons, and Siamese. You'd be amazed at the number of fullbred expen$ive cats surrendered to rescues. If you keep looking, a Ragdoll is bound to show up in a shelter. You are in the perfect position to search... you want one, but not sure when. You can search and when one "pops up" you can decide if its time, or continue to wait for the next one to come along.

Last summer I was seriously looking a getting a new ragdoll kitten(blue-point boy) but the costs were outrageous for the kittens. the cheapest price i could find was $400 and up to $800. needless to say my husband was not to happy about that idea. and most did not even include the neuter in the price. So after many trips to our local humane shelter to find that "special someone" we finally found our boy Buddy. He is not a ragdoll, but a siamese and his markings are identical to the ragdolls that I was wanting. Best thing he was only $60.00 and that include all shots and neutering, and we saved his life! So you may want to look into your local shelter and save a life.everyone will be glad you did..especially the kitty:) See my two kitties here http://www.imagestation.com/album/pictures.html?id=2133993921 :)

yes, of course we would be adopting one either from a shelter or petfinder or something. :)
