Oh my goodness!!! I've ALWAYS said I wish it snowed here, but now I'm having second thoughts. I guess the snow can stay on the mountains, where we can visit it but not live around it to see it melt like that. :o

Anna, our yard looks just about like yours and where there isn't water the yard is like mush. I hate to take the dogs out. :( I just wish it would stop raining!:( We've had more than our share of rain these last few years. Now we are getting sleet. I'll be lucky to get in my truck to go to work in the morning, it's already covered in ice!

Goodness! Its going to be REALLY dangerous when it starts to ice over.

My yard is anice and sloppy right now, but nothing compared to that. We're supposed to have all the rain we got today to ice over tonight. We're expecting a late start to school tomorrow.

I hate to say it Anna, but I'd rather have the rain, then all the ice here!! I just crunched my way out to the truck, and got he defroster going...the dogs went out and didn't sink into the snow atall..it is glazed over with about 1/2 inch of ice!!

The roads were as bad here as i thought...only took me an extra 5 minutes to get to work today...

My office mate just talked to her parents down in Sydney( OH, about 10 miles from where Anna lives) ...all the rain there turned to ice overnight, and they haven't had power since about 2am, and downtown Sydney is in a blackout.

Hope things are okay in Piqua, Anna and that you guys are staying warm!!

Those last ones made it look like Florida. I never thought about all that snow melting. That doesn't look like fun at all.

Oh Anna. :( I hope you're not having problems with flooding. When it rains hard here my parents get a large pond in the side yard.

We got 5 inches of snow last night which I'm happy about. Kia just loves it. :)

by this time i will take the rain over the snow......i was pretty housebound for a week after the big snow....although now there are many flood warnings.....problem being we are so "down south" ohio...cataholic passed a golf course this morning on her way over here w/jonah this morning and said it was nearly under water....although not totally a new course, they added on and landscaped it beautifully this past summer/fall......really beautifully and i hope all goes well with it when the water recedes......i am from the nj coast and i am still not used to ohio's weather.......

  OMG!!! That´s horrible!!!
We have almost same saying in Iceland...'If you dont like weather wait for 5minutes' ... Especially in summer we have about 5min raining and then sunshine again... and so on :) I heard once there some years ago in northern Iceland in the middle of July they had snow for about 15 minutes :D

Anna, that saying is SO true!!!
Up here by the Lake, you only have to wait a few hours!
Yesterday the rain/sleet stuff stopped at about 4:00, then from 4 till 10pm last night it was ALL snow. Then after midnight it turned to freezing rain & ice. Right now in my back yard is about 5 inches of snow and a layer of ice on top!

I wish I had a little ice dancing outfit I could have put on Sierra this morning!!:D :D
She was slipping and sliding all over the place just trying to go potty!! I was LMAO!! Buddy didn't have that problem, he is almost 25lbs heavier than her, so all he did was "CRUNCH.. CRUNCH" Through the thick layer of ice, he didn't like it at all, so he did what he had to do... and came back in the house! While we watched Sierra finish her routine with a triple lutz and a belly flop!!!

:D

Yeah Amy we are fine. I can hear the ice melting and dropping off the house as I sit here. I don't think we got it as bad as Sidney though (thank goodness). And luckily the water has receeded so I can now get to my car and go to work

Hope all the other Ohioans are doing alright after all this!

I am pretty sure I heard the temps were dipping into the 20s down here (Cincinnati) tonight. SOOOOO....we may have little ice skating ponds all over. I do prefer the rain over the snow, though. I hate shoveling!

 My goodness!! You could go swimming! ;) Wow! i hope our snow doesn't melt like that. That would be bad, but I doubt its going to go anywhere with the minus degree weather we have been having ad the -20 something wind chill!! :( It's COLD!!!

That saying holds true for Michigan as well. I remember years where people were wearing shorts outside at the beginning of January, and getting a foot of snow the next day.
