I know that I have been so bad at posting pics lately. I got a 3D sonogram done today. Tyler is huge! His estimated birthweight is 9-10lbs. I am not surprised because Jaden was 10 1/2 lbs when he was born. I'm 33 weeks (8 months) pregnant and Tyler is already 5 lbs 1 oz. They couldn't measure his length today because he is really scrunched up in there. It appears that his lungs are already working on their own, so we're in the free and clear now. :D I am so glad that I no longer have to worry about premature labor. I can't wait until he comes out!

The pics are funny because he looks like his face is smashed against glass. In a way, it's true. He looks like that because he was pressing his face against my uterine wall. He looks alot like Jaden. I don't know if you are familiar with the 3d pics, but they're very accurate. When you compare newborn photos to the 3d photos (during late pregnancy) they are exact.

He's already got alot of hair. If you look closely, you'll notice a double chin and chubby cheeks. I LOVE chubby babies! All together there are 45 pictures and a 20 minute video, but I'll just show a few.

First he was sucking his thumb.

http://www.imagestation.com/picture/sraid152/pa809b886e8de96af461f2481470a6202/f5b60220.jpg

We wanted a clear view of his face, so the lady kept nudging his elbow through my belly. It was funny because he was getting so irritated. Just like you'd imagine if you nudged a baby's elbow outside of the womb, his thumb kept slipping out of his mouth. He'd rub his face, searching for his mouth again, and then go back to sucking....

http://www.imagestation.com/picture/sraid152/p0ceafe81124b43c590544244e3e52a69/f5b6021d.jpg

Finally he got mad (I think) and opened his mouth wide. He gave up on thumb sucking after that.

He briefly opened his eyes

He said "Leave me alone!"

http://www.imagestation.com/picture/sraid152/p6b648c81d9a2986c12ec17d60dda9c2b/f5b608d0.jpg

And then he went back to sleep

Amazing pictures. After all you have been through with this and other pregnancies, it is sooooo good to know that his lungs are working, and that he's big enough so that, if he happened to be born tomorrow, he should still be just fine.

Yeah, I have been telling my husband that he's a thumb sucker. I can feel it. It's like a pulsing feeling in my belly. Sure enough! It's confirmed!

These are what the regular sonogram pics look like...they are harder to make out. I think this one was his femur.

http://www.imagestation.com/picture/sraid152/p62c9d7a73ea0b42137d0ed5d560d6847/f5b4ee71.jpg

The 3D give much more detail, but mainly outside detail, like physical appearance. The traditional sonogram is still better for seeing bones and whatnot.

Miranda_Rae, Yes, they are expensive. I think the cheapest is $130 or so. But if there is a good reason, most insurances will cover all or part of it.

Tonya,

Those are SO cool!!! I wish they had that technology when Amy was renting my womb (I should've charged her rent :p). Of course, that was way back in 1976.

This is my favorite picture, along with the caption. Poor little guy. I'd be pissed too if someone was poking at me.

"Okay everybody, will ya PLEASE turn the lights out so I can get back to sleep???"

He actually looks like he put his face on the glass of a copy machine. Surprized you didn't get any butt pictures.

Glad to hear everything is going well. You're my hero, Tonya. They couldn't pay me enough to go through that again.

(((hugs))))

Actually, we did get some butt pictures. But it also showed Tyler's privates and I knew he wouldn't appreciate it if I showed that off. It was quite detailed. ;)

Noahsmommy- 3D isn't quite standard yet. Most insurances won't pay for it. The few that do will only pay for it if there are special circumstances.

oh my gosh!! oh my gosh!!!!! I am soooooo jealous. Those pictures are so adorable!! I wish that we had a 3D ultrasound machine around here, but looks like we'll have to wait to get 3D pics of baby number 2 in a few years:) I'm so happy to hear that he is healthy and his lungs are well developed, that's fantastic news! Are you ready to sign his eviction notice yet?:D

I had no idea that you were going to name your little boy Tyler! That is what we are planning on naming our little one too if s/he is a boy:D :D

Congratulations on the healthy ultrasound and good luck with the remaining weeks:)

OMG, that is SO amazing!

My sister in-law is going to have a little baby boy in January, her due date is January 28, unfortunaly, they live in Pheonix, AZ, and we live in Northern Minnesota :(, my mom might get to go down there when she has the baby, but plane tickets are expensive, so we might not get to go.

I wish you luck on the rest of your pregnacy, and I can't wait to see pictures of little Tyler when he is born! :)

I bet you do! Japan has so much more technology then we do. They're always ahead of the game. The stuff that my husband owned when he lived in Japan didn't come out in the US for a few more years. You'd probably have to go off base and pay out of pocket though.

BTW, I got one done at 16 weeks also to find out what I was having. Have you found out yet? I know you said the day was coming up...

Hey Tonya - Missy will have the U/S on Tuesday (Jan 4th) and a doctor appt on Thursday. I talked to her this morning and asked her to check and see if one of the nationals she works with could do the research to find out where and how much it would cost to have the 3D done!!

Those pictures are amazing. I had heard of the technology but had never seen it before - just incredible!! How exciting for you:D

Also - how about some of YOUR belly pix;) Are you taking them regularly???

I am still looking for the rubber ducky video for Jaden:p

I have been taking belly pics. I don't like my digital camera, so I have been using a disposable camera. I have to develop them first. I think that I'm going to have a TON of pics to post on PT within the next few weeks. My belly is getting huge! I've really started "blossoming" in the past month or so. :D

I cannot wait to find out what Missy is having! I'm excited for her. The 3D sono isn't just pictures, BTW. I have a two 20 minute videos of Tyler too. We got a video when I was 16 weeks pregnant and then again this time around.
